and to the student: I don't remember what the Dr. said about what's going on in the body when the stereotypy occurs, just that it's a complex motor stereotypy and not a seizure, so it's not caused by electrical activity in the brain. As far as the etiology of the condition, I really don't know. Sorry!
Thankyou my son is six months and began this behaviour last week. Countless tests and EEGs and nothing could be found. And we were given the diagosis of sterotypy I am soooo glad to hear ur little one grew out of it thanks for the hope xxxx
