    and to the student: I don't remember what the Dr. said about what's going on in the body when the stereotypy occurs, just that it's a complex motor stereotypy and not a seizure, so it's not caused by electrical activity in the brain. As far as the etiology of the condition, I really don't know. Sorry!

  • Did the doctor say what caused the stereotypy? (curious psychology student)

  • Thankyou my son is six months and began this behaviour last week. Countless tests and EEGs and nothing could be found. And we were given the diagosis of sterotypy I am soooo glad to hear ur little one grew out of it thanks for the hope xxxx
