  • Jesus H......it sucks and blows

  • ryan cabrera covers is all good you not goood u suck

  • You kind of missed the point of expression and art . I just played the exact same thing live in a contest and got lots of compliments from people that were actually alive during the paul simon era and im pretty sure their opinion is a little more valid than yours. Dont be jelouse. Ryan cabrera appreciated the song and did a tribute to it. Its an honor to have someone take your some and like it so much they try it out. Im sure Paul would be proud of it. thats all im saying.

  • I am not jealous. Nor am I as young as you think I am, and I am also not the complete ignoramus you take me to be. What is the 'Paul Simon era' by the way? Simon is still very much alive and making music. I was at one of the original Graceland concerts, as well as lots of other Paul Simon gigs and Ryan's interpretation does not do the song justice. It is bad. Ryan does not get the song. And I am sure he is not making music to honor the people he covers but to express himself and to get girls.

  • Is it me, or do you sound slightly grouchy? Oh wait, that's your screen name.

  • LMAO.

  • Okay ...Well honest opinion He shouldn't mess with third eye blind because He definitely didn't do them justice..

  • @Davidsloverforever ha you say that like third eye blind is one of the most amazing bands ever, steven jenkins is one of the worst singers ever i like the band they write good songs but when it comes to playing theyre not very good

  • this song sounds amazing on an acoustic guitar..if someone could get me the chords and strum pattern he uses to play this song, that'd be great...ultimate guitar has it as G D C D, but I just don't see him playing a C at all during this video..

  • the C-chord is the one they don't teach you...

if its' EADGBE (top to bottom)

put your first finger on the D, second fret, second finger on the A, third fret, third finger on the B, 2nd fret...use your fourth finger to hit the E, sometimes - they use this a lot. Makes it very easy to go from the C to the G, huh?

This is the "C" of modern country music, too. You'll be amazed how many songs use this.

    Hope this helps.

  • it could be a cadd9

which looks alot like a G

  • yeah its definitely a Cadd9

  • No its C. Def. Look at the tabs and listen to the tone.

  • ya its G D C D, then he turns them into bar chords during the solo and just does the same thing on palm mutes though.

  • i think you don't like ryan cabrera because he's too commercially packaged and stuff, but he's got talent. the sax player and him work together well, looks like a street act

  • Somebody tell the girl in front of the camera that her hair is gunna look bad, no matter how much she messes with it.

  • are you kidding..? RC don't go anywhere near the magic that is 3eb. Such a let down.

  • im fallen in loveeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • i love his hair in this video

  • AWESOME cover of two songs that I never would have thought would go together so well (even though they do use the same chord pattern--- never thought of that before). I hate to say it, because Ryan is not anywhere near an artist of Paul Simon's caliber, but this version of "You Can Call Me Al" blows Paul's right out of the water. This is terrific stuff. And to mix it with 3rd Eye Blind was absolutely brilliant.

  • No way - Paul Simon's was way better, as was 3EB's.

However, he did mesh the two well.

  • I agree with what you just said.

  • i really don't like ryan cabrera much, i've tried to get into him, but just can't.

but he did this cover justice.

    :)

  • He looks exactly like Brian Littrel in this vid.

  • hermosooooo !! =)

omg ^^ this is a perfect boy (L)

  • this reminds me of brian littrell lol

  • hair like jesse mccartney rofl

  • as cool as this is, you cant beat the original

  • LOVEEEEEEEEIT

  • Im sry but Paul Simon can not be beat. He is just amazing.

  • I like this version of the song : you can call me al

  • this one he reminds me of brian littrell

  • i don't care what people say i think he's cute and he's good except that szxophone has got to go lol

  • whinyyy

  • yeahh uhh not really.

go hear kill hannah and hear whinyy.

  • I never noticed the similarities between the two songs before... now I wanna hear the trumpet keep going through the SCL chorus!

  • Saxophone*. Jeez, I dunno where my head was saying trumpet!

  • Craaaaaaaap.

  • WOW i love this....best song ever. I LOVE RY!!

  • assholes. shut up. he's amazing.

  • wowa he sucks ,i thought this dude was goona impress me,he better sing ths song how it is , i mean is better

  • ryan marry me im pregnant

  • Ryan is great, much respect for that guy,he knows how to cover a song

  • atrocious ...

  • i freaken love that boy <3

  • cool! cheerio"

  • I think it's lovely! Just because it is in a different style to Paul Simon's version it doesn't mean that it is bad. Music is art remember - there is no right or wrong way to create art.

  • Don't really like this cover

  • OMG! I've been trying to find him singing this song ever since I went to his concert! Sweet!

  • Man, when you make Paul Simon sound like the Backstreet Boys, you've fucked up.

  • hahaah, i agree.

  • BE NICE TO MY RYAN BABY!

  • Thought his rendition of Semi Charmed Life was horrible at first, but after I listened to it a few more times it wasn't so bad.

  • not bad.

  • poor cover

  • Whoa, he isn't as God awful as I thought...nice to see a younger guy do a good cover of Paul Simon
