Yes, the game is aimed at children --  cutesy graphics, no inappropriate content, rated E and all that -- although older people can definitely enjoy it, too. I'm 18 and I play it; so does my 60-year-old mother. ^^

Also, you can't play this online. You can get this game for GameCube or for Wii only. Try looking up other games in the Harvest Moon series (which will have the same general premise, but different plot and characters and stuff) to see what other systems they're available for!

The baby is NEVER given any official gender. No matter what you name it, it will never be referred to as "he" or "she." And, since the baby doesn't grow past being a toddler, the appearance never makes its gender apparent, either. You can name your baby whatever you want, but it'll only have a gender...in your own mind, basically. xD Whatever you perceive it to be. Because the game will never recognize it as one gender or the other.

20 days after marriage, pregnancy is announced. Then 59 days later (about 2 seasons), the baby will be born. and you don't have to do anything to make it happen. Just wait it out. ^^

You don't need to feed it (although you can, and it'll raise hearts, but there's no special scene or reward for maxing its hearts), nor do you need to take it out (although you can, but just carrying it, no stroller), nor do you need to "raise" it at all. xD It never grows past toddling, forever destined to sit around your house crying. It's great that you're concerned about how to care for it, but trust me, there's no need! =P It's little more than an accessory to your marriage.

no,u dont need to et a stroller,the baby only grows up to be a toddler and learn to walk. you get a crib from Woody when the babys born. and no you dont have to feed it everyday,BUT it is rwally good to hold it,get a rattle and sooth the baby and to give it food every day to get the hearts up. the things you can feed your baby are almost everything i think. i've feed the baby cws milk,eggs,mayonase,and breadfruit,and mushrooms ^^ lol

No, you don't need any EXTRA hearts to get pregnant. You need 9-10 hearts in order to GET married in the first place, and if you can MAINTAIN that (i.e. just keep your spouse happy; don't make him hate you) then 20 days after the marriage your pregnancy will automatically be announced. Good luck!

In the game "Harvest Moon: Magical Melody," you can only have one child, and it will only ever grow up to toddler stage.

The game "Harvest Moon: Animal Parade" - another HM series title that I have videos about - that's the one that lets you have 2 children. But not MM.

i have a question i am confused on my magical melody and i was wondering : i know u have to upgrade your house but when i tried upgrading my house it said that i had to buy ANOTHER piece of land in order to upgrade my house... and since i know that wherever u live u are stopping new people to move in i dont really want to own another piece of land that would be more people not moved in

As someone else said, there is no land that you can own that would prevent someone else from moving in. You can buy anything available at the Workshop under "Land Purchase" without fear of harming the town.

Also, you're trying to upgrade to level 3 for the marriage requirement, right? Are you choosing "Remodel" rather than "New Construction"? (Because the requirement calls for an upgrade of your ORIGINAL, MAIN, house to Level 3.)

The only other potential problem I can think of is that the plot of land where your house is built is too small for the house (or something in the way on the land takes up the necessary space and makes the area too small). Is it by any chance the town center plot? That's REALLY small... Try tweaking the position of the house on the upgrade preview confirmation screen thing - and if all else fails, buy a new, bigger piece of land (like oceanside) and Relocate your house there and then upgrade.

Well, you NEVER really "beat" the game! And that's the beauty of it. You can continue to play pursuing any goal you may set for yourself: raising hearts to 10, earning obscene amounts of money *coughWINNIE*, unlocking cutscenes *coughME* collecting all Notes, etc... Strangely, even getting the 100th Note does nothing to make the game look complete. The only way "end" is to marry Jamie. No further play is allowed with Jamie as a spouse, and an end screen is displayed after a series of cutscenes.

xD Jamie is intentionally designed to be gender-ambiguous in appearance. Officially, Jamie is male when you play as a girl and is female when you play as a boy. So you can marry him/her no matter what. The only problem is that Jamie has a lot of extra, more difficult marriage requirements that need to be fulfilled before he/she will accept a proposal.

Yes, I have ToT. It's FANTASTIC. The art style is more mature-ish than this one but still cute, the plot is more solidly connected with the gameplay and keeps you very addicted, the cutscenes and heart events are wonderfully developed, and there are almost as many bachelor/ettes as in Magical Melody (8 for each gender as opposed to MM's 10 or 11 counting Jamie) - all very awesome and likeable new characters. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of the general Harvest Moon concept. =D
