We get a few different species here but I think the ones in the US are much bigger. Most of these are yellowbelly flounder. We also often get sand flounder in the same areas

The flounder really stand out. Does the light blind them so they don't move?

na, they just think you cant see them..................you can pick smaller ones up woth your hand if you slowly creep up to it. and you can make your own lights, all you need should be at mitre 10 mega stores.

@aschinook when they see somehting coming ( the light) they think you cant see them, so they saty as still as possible until your gone (the lights gone) and theyl swim away
