you have not heard them through a few bonnec alto's the only reason you would think classe are considered better is because b&w own them classe are fantastic but the bonnec is in a totally different level and half the price ....... if you had older 802's or 801's there was also an active option from bonnec that gave an incredible sonic improvement............ check them out one day if you ever find dealer there quite rare now .... i should say i used to work for a b&w nautilus dealer

These speakers can operate perfectly in a medium , small room. They are near-field monitors after all. The smaller the environment the greater the need for room tuning. If done on a serious level, coupled with powerful, fast amplifiers, they deliver that " being there" feeling that few other speakers can match ...

You need a large room for these or bass can be heavy and overpowering. The 802D is, I think, more suitable for the average domestic environment. I like the diamond tweeter--one of the best domes in the business.

Found these babies for around 3-3.5k Euros,used in mint condition and made before 10 years,bastard me couldn't find the money before they got sold,which happened moments after people learned about it.

I lost a treasure,though maybe it was better cause i would need to spend more afterwards as a 600$ Audiolab Amplifier won't even drive their Tweeters and the room would be a verb mess as always until it get professionally treated.

best amps for the 801 are the Karan 1200,with Kubala sosna Elation interconect and loudspeaker cable,try it and you´ll see,for preamp use the new Karan or a VTL 7.5.

I think a well designed and implemented valve amplifier, with efficient speakers would sound just as good, if not better and would be a fraction of the cost of this bling fest. This obsession with huge power amps and hard to drive speakers is the wrong direction for anyone who actually likes music.

Well,for me,in my opinion,and to my ears,B&W are the best money can buy.I'v been following what the company does,and their research and development laboratory is second to none.While I must sound like a dad telling others his son is the best,I know it's a big ocean with other big fish,and others are surely awesome aswell.Linn would be my second choice.Thing is,I bought my speakers knowing I would die with them.My father has a pair from the 80's and they still sound increadible.

Gorgeous system, B&W and Classe are pure class. Just like SimAudio Evolution and Dynaudio Confidence.

This said some superlative gear in this clip, for some of the electronics deserve better speakers. Like the Wilson Alexandria X2 or JM Lab Grande Utopia.

You would learn a great deal about your system if you played back your own recording through the system. Then recorded it and played it back again. The recording is beautifully dynamic and emotional but strident. While the bass is is reproduced as characterless, overblown, rough and almost monotonic. I'm sure it sounds fine in the room. :-)

It's not jealousy, I swear. I just think that some people just have too much money and waste it on egocentric endeavors like chasing the perfect audio experience, which is totally subjective. If you can't achieve sublime sound for $10K you can't achieve it for any amount. It is a better use of ones money than snorting it up ones nose I suppose.
