Is this typr of piano that your playing an upright grand? Can we clear up the difference between JAZZ and BLUES ?? I play piano by ear only. Meaning I play the music how I hear it being played and can improvise things to make it better and original. Jazz is up beat yes when played but not as soulful as when being played in a sense. Whereas blues is played either slow or fast but with much feeling. Its different when (for example) I play jazz and blues. Yes I feel all music BUT the blues has a deeper feel to it than others. Just my opinion :)

Im 14, and i'm self taught, apart from about a yr of lessons when i was 10.

Im playing music similar to this, but I enjoy songs people actually know, and some classical.

Taking grade 5 in half a year. I started taking piano lessons a week ago...

They said im fit for grade 6 or even 7 but i need to do grade 5 theory...UGH!!

I play music like:

Canon in D (With Canon in Z twist)

Toccata and Fuege

A coldplay medely I created, 8:41 long!

Also other music such as Apologize and River flows in you

It's not. When one takes the front off, or opens the top if it's a grand, it sounds better, and it's much louder. I am guessing he has it off so one can hear it as well as possible.

i have an old upright just like that one. a mahogany Baldwin, 1904. it sounds great. i go to the store and play new $20,000 dollar baby grands. They sound good but most of the new pianos do not sound as good as my 100 year old old upright. live i use a Clavinova with a Korg brain but my $200 dollar 100year old piano sounds way better to me. we leave it all opened up just like that too. all the panels off, top open. concrete floors, it sounds amazing.
