My generation has worked like dogs for what little we have: the VietNam generation is getting ready ro retire and they deserve their retirement benefits as well: we have all paid dearly for them. But do you understand that every single person on medicare PAYS for it? A portion of my SS check is dedicted EVERY month to help pay for medicare. Medicaid on the other hand pays nothing...it's just at tax payers expense. Veterans also pay for their care except in certain circumstances.
Veterans who make over $24,000. a year pay for their visits and their meds. ONLY service connected disability gets it free. There is so much fraud and waste when government takes over anything that they cannot be trusted to handle something as sensitive as health care. Seeing what I see everytime I go to the VA clinic, the LAST thing I want is more federal bureaucrats involved in my life.

My generation has worked like dogs for what little we have: the VietNam generation is getting ready ro retire and they deserve their retirement benefits as well: we have all paid dearly for them. But do you understand that every single person on medicare PAYS for it? A portion of my SS check is dedicted EVERY month to help pay for medicare. Medicaid on the other hand pays nothing...it's just at tax payers expense. Veterans also pay for their care except in certain circumstances.

Veterans who make over $24,000. a year pay for their visits and their meds. ONLY service connected disability gets it free. actually, i recently read a scientific paper that shows humans develop the part of the brain that distinguishes emotion at about five or seven years old. second, when my uncle, an american citizen, died of a stroke i was nine, and i new exactly what i felt, ill never forget it.
