At least you can say "oh they forgot, they made a huge mistake" when it comes to Dr Baker and Almonzo. But not mentioning WILLIE OLESON is a disgrace, an insult to the actor and millions of people around the world. I thought these people are pros, even if they happen to dislike an actor. I wouldnt watch any LHOP episodes if someone told me they have deleted all Willie Oleson parts. That kid annoyed us :-), a character we loved to hate, it wouldnt be the same without him.
I liked the early episodes best.I liked Jonathan Garvey( Merlin Olsen) he reminded me so much of my Uncle.Little House was a good desent family show. That you just don't see anymore on TV today.Television shows just get worse as the decades go by.I'm so glad that I grew up with shows like Little House and The Waltons.Kids today grow up with shows that teach them to have no respect for themselves or tords others.
Would have been nice if there would have been some mention of who they considered to play each part. Now it is just a repetition of what the characters are like.
I'm just 43 and when I was a child growng up, I recall the front porches and the little store across the street run by a little old lady. I realize I caught the tail-ending of a beautiful day in America. Today has become such a sad time. I feel so sad for our families today. Hollywood offers nothing! Our ridiculous government joke offers nothing! All we have are these memories of the good days. I'm sad but I am hopeful. It's never too late for us to reclaim America and the good ole days.
@GreatestSingerEver01 I'm not from USA, but your words exactly reflect my point of view about the The Little House. I always wanted to buy in a lovely store like the Oleson's store is. Yet I'am 31 years old and I have the same wish.
Also I think it would be great, if Laura and Merry were my sisters. I feel a specific sympathy to them, based on character similarity especially to the first one.

Shannen Doherty---who knew she would end up a bad hollywood story--she has talent but no character---wanna fuck her go up to her ---I understand her she give a great BJ, but I have to say she cares not for anyone but herself---great feature to have in Hollywood. May every bridge you have burned be with you always shannon.
they mettioned almanzo in part 2 but they did miss few imporant charcters yes doc baker, also more imporant karrie and grace ingals and whatever laura's baby was named her duaghter in show was therr for awhile as baby nd toddler. nd few others to almanzo's sister ms wilder afore almanzo married laura who he calls beth
Did someone shut off the telepromter the host was obviously reading? No mention of Lars Hansen, Doc Baker, Andrew Hester Sue, Almanzo, Percivil, Eliza Jane, Etta Plumb, the Carters, Mrs Foster, Mr Montique, Willie / Rachel / Nancy Olsen, or the ones who played Charles' boss in Winoka and WG bankers. No mention of Grace & the kids, Adam & Luke Sims, James & Cassandra, or Houston. And even though they are probably the worst child actors ever, no mention of Carrie, Grace, or Rose.
@myhighlanddream Not all the actors are cast by the casting agent. Some actors hired after the pilot episode are often done so by the request of a producer (there were 7 others besides Landon), writer or director. Landon himself often hired people from Bonanza, which is the case of Kevin Hagen who played 5 separate role on episodes from 1961 thru 1967 on Bonanza (Brother Guy being the most popular character). I think Landon just called him up and asked him to do the role. For the rest, etc.
almonzo became a main character in the episodes he was in...not mentioning him was an oversight, I think...but, I appreciate hearing more about those that were covered in this piece
Yeah, well, this IS the most heart-felt serie I've ever known. That's why I came to begin to watch this through; everything's so heartfelt and natural in this, so...cozy. The actors, teh characters, the event,s the places... Sometimes you get teh feeling things get dramatic in the name of drama - in this serie any drama seems to come from the heart. I LOVE this show. And it's theme tune. Maybe I'll read some of the books one day.
They never mention Doc Baker or Willie Olson (Jonathan Gilbert--at least I think that is his first name. He was Melissa Gilbert's brother!). I would have thought that two major characters like this would have been introduced. Along with Almonzo (Dean Butler) considering he had a major role as well. They mentioned Jenny but not Doc Baker, Willie, or Almonzo? Seems odd to me.
The reason that they mentioned Jenny was that the actress who played her, Shannen Dougherty, went on to greater fame in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed.
Did Dean Butler just show up without casting? LOL...Didn't see him mentioned. The way she talks about them all, she reminds me of a Saturday Night Live Skit

The problem with this show is that it was either too dramatically heavy, and you don't want to go back there, or it was too lightweight and silly, and not worth watching. It hardly ever found the right balance--the balance that more modern shows seem to have found, between drama and comedy.
That is so completely untrue, there isn't even a proper response to that comment! If your comment had any truth to it, surely the show wouldn't still have such a large audience worldwide for more than 30 years. Hello?
i think she was just tlaking about the main people in the show. But yes, she should of talked about Carrrie...even though she didnt really say much when she was little.
She forgot or just left out a bunch of important people like Willie, & his wife in later seasons, Almanzo, Eliza Jane, and Carrie from the ingalls family. When she was talking about each family, she left out one or two people
They left out the role of the Doctor from this video and the role of Mr. Edward's wife (whom I loved).
I never liked the character of Jonathon Garvey. I feel they used him to replace Mr. Edwards. I wish Victor French would have never left the show mid-season. Michael Landon never cast off Mr. Edwards and his family when he left the show. Left you feeling like, "Hey, what happened to Mr. Edwards and his family?"
they also did not mention how they casted carrie...

To not pay homage to the late Kevin Hagen as Doc Baker is a sin! He was a wonderful actor. Doc Baker was my favorite male character on Little House.

It was a nice review of the characters that she talked about, but she missed a lot of people from LH.

There was also no menton of Lindsey Sidney Greenbush, Carry, or Allison Balson who played Nancy on LHOTP.
