I didn't notice that Ethel doesn't kiss Fred in that scene. After reading that they didn't really care for each other, I always wondered how they felt when the show called for their characters to be affectionate toward each other. Jeeze they must've REALLY despised each other.

In his smug "know-it-all" attitude, he is wrong about the mixed-up drink reaction of Lucy's. The continuity is correct for the comedy. Her reaction is based on her "thinking" she had the drink with the sleeping power in it. There was no mistake here.

She switched the "poisoned" cup to her right, but then aimed for the right? It doesn't make sense. I'm thinking they are missing a portion of the scene because I'm 98% sure Desi made TWO switcharoos....then it would make sense for her to aim towards the right....thinking Desi moved it back to the left.

there was a "Mickey" in the drink, which was the source of her reactions. As you recall, there was nothing more than a sleeping powder put in the drink. The "horror" was in Lucy's mind. My, what analysis!

There weren't actual bloopers, because back in the day the show was taped in front of a live studio audience like a play. They were "highly professional" actors who rarely slipped up. I think that's what made the show even more funny. The actors were prepared and if they messed up, they improvised to create the same effect.

At Amy, The show had plenty of bloopers but since it was live, they worked around it. There was an episode on Lucy when the phone rang and it was Ricky was supposed to answer it. He missed the que and Lucy worked it into the script. The way she did it, it made it seem as though it was originally apart of the script. Wow, what an actresss!!!! I miss her!

no bloopers as far as I know from I Love Lucy. You are right, few of them in the first place. Actors rarely made errors, when they did they generally didn't cut or stop a scene. When they did - they didn't keep the error as they did today. So, the only record may be in the minds of the few actors alive who can recall.

One reason could be is that retakes for bloopers were rare for this show. They rarely made big mistakes and any other mistake made was quikly covered with improv or just moving on with the scene. Shows that they were very pprofessional people. It would be nice to see some real authentic bloopers though!
