  • Thanks. I was just passing along what the local train buffs were telling me. Now I know a flanger from a spreader!

  • The last train you see actually isn't a Flanger set, that would be a Spreader set. The Flanger set's consist of 2 GP38-2's with a Flanger being pulled behind the lead units. A Spreader set usually consist of 2 Spreaders (as seen in your video) on both end of a set of 2 GP38-2's. The Spreaders shown here were part of the group that were recently overhauled completly, why they look so sharp.
