  • I had two wild hogs for a few months I fattened them up and got bacon, pan sausage, ham, backstrap, and tenderloin out of them

  • @Jdubpmb4life nice!

  • The belly meat is used to make bacon but usually wild hogs are to lean not enough fat content

  • @SouthTxHogHunters wild hogs are getting fatter by the day

  • Good stuff.

  • @fistrow89 thanks

  • what part do you use for bacon? lol

  • @norcaltke857 I havent made any yet. But the stomach and the meat over the ribs I think

  • I do believe I'm going to have ribs for dinner...

  • @camarogod93 I need to pull some out myself

  • @aslanruhu I need to find some more!

  • Do you have any good tips on how to get the gamey taste out of the meat when you are eating the meat?

  • @acdcgreat thats starts while gutting. Dont cut anything wrong. That said, wash the meat right after. Then put in cooler FULL of ice. Leave that drain open. I add ice if needed and leave my pork on ice for at least 3 days for a sow or pocket pig. The bigger boars for 4-5 days. Drains the blood, ages teh meat a bit. That seems to help. At the same time, Ive harvested boar and cooked that same day.

  • What type of blade do you use on your Sawzall? The one I've been using seems to gum up really badly.

  • @deborahtucker94 just about any blade will gum up, cut the meat thru before you use the saw.

  • You did good job I'll save it in my favorites for future reference.going to try hog hunting this year on public land

  • Mmmmm this video made me hungry for some hog

Your real good at processing them

    How much you charge ;)

  • @Toolcarlos12 Some ribs... this is old too... Ive gotten much better at it since!

  • cool vid man..thanx for posting

  • OLD vid, LOL, a regular meat butcher would say I butchered him!!! But it fit in the freezer and ate very well!!! Welcome.

  • thumbs up bro

  • was wondering how you left backstrap on when you cooked the ribs on a prior video!!!

  • Now you know!!! Take the time and cut the spine out. The ribs will seperate better that way after cooking.

  • HELPFUL!!

  • A real professional butcher, who sees this, would instantly start to cry!

How long, do you think, it would take, till this guy cuts his own leg, arm or anything else?

  • They probably would!!! But I'm no pro and this is the first time doing it by myself. And yes, I've cut myself many times, but not on hogs!!! Thanks for the comment!!!

  • Things only can get better. Publish again, after you did the first dozen. Learning by doing! One of the methods to experience anatomy.

Wish I could be with you to share some time.

I am always ready for a cold beer and some barbequed meats.

    So long,

    regards,

    Uli from Germany

  • Keep it up, good man. That is a valuable skill to have when you're on your own.

  • I'ld love to escape to the Rockies and Hermit it!!!

  • awesome stuff man. this is really alien to me, but it's a cool thought that you're out there shooting and eating wild boars. maybe i'll get to some day!

  • Its so much better than store bought meat. 100 years ago, everyone shot what they ate!!!

  • Awesome. Great quality too!

  • Hey thankks for the comment!! This vid doesn't get much attention!!!

  • cgi

  • Haven't you ever harvested your own meat? Made sausage? Bacon? Its all good and I know how its handled. Have you ever seen a cow in a slaughter house? You don't want to see that, trust me.

  • psycho
