Theres not much I can add to say what an inspirational figure he is. I'm really glad I rewatched these videos. Reminded me about following your dreams and that the sincerity of your ideas are what really count and procrastination on a project is okay.
Vaughn Bode was the first artist that taught me, as an artist, the freedom of being myself. Now hearing him talk about his ideas is inspiring me to believe in my own ideas! He really had a lot to offer! Such an inspiration.
thankyou for this rare insight into a genius whose work has had a lasting influence of me - what a great guy, a real liberated, intelligent human being
"ROCKS! Rocks don't never plumb da high heights of thinking thought. They never thunked why they don't know nothin'... An ant can think circles aroun a rock any day of da week."
Thanks for sharing this footage of Vaughn. His work has been one of the biggest influences on me ever since I was a little kid in the seventies. Hearing him speak about his work and his life here influences me yet again.
Bode was one of the genuine graphic talents around during the early 70s. As much as that, his work was totally different from everything else being cranked out in the mainstream; technically accomplished, strange, funny, outrageous. Damn shame he died so young.
Can remember seeing his stuff for the first time in Lampoon and thinking what in the world is *this*?
Thank you so so much for this video. This blew my mind and soul. I still feel and us his energy within my arts. chinafunk dot com
He us to put soul into his art. but his son uses the heart. When you create from you soul (if you have on) then you become and vessel for the universe. Love your work Bode!!
Actually nevermind, I brought one of his books and it said some stuff about mysterious phone calls from Vaughn and him running off to Canada. Who knows if he's still alive though or if he even faked his death. Theres only one realistic way of knowing, travel to Canada and track him down! Don't get all paparazzi on him though its just not a good way to greet a person.
These videos were awesome. Thanks alot for posting these, it really fed me with inspiration for my own artwork that i am in the process of experimenting with still. Thanks again.
i wonder what kind of marker he is using

0:19 as an artist that squeeking of the felt markers is soothing

He was a huge talent. 33 plus 37... He would be about 70 today.
