May I add a comment? When hyperventilate CO2 levels fall impairing of the Bohr effect , oxygen is not released so readily where needed because the slight rise in Ph locally is lost in the generalized alkalosis. We have now poor oxygenation of tissue that may lead to a sense of breathlessness or impaired oxygen delivery to the brain, the asthmatic and panic attack patient would recognize this. This is a fundamental part of the Buteyko Method rationale.
