They really are soul mates. It doesn't matter if you see them as gay or just as an amazing bromance, under all that controversy and disagreement about what they are to each other, there is a truly amazing friendship there that will last a lifetime no matter what.

Personally, I see them as two best friends who complete each other so fully that there is no doubt that they are soul mates, and you don't have to be IN love with your soul mate, you just have a special, unbreakable bond :)

Seems like John has already forgiven him.

Also, Sherlock has pretty much taken John for granted over the course of the whole first season, it's only fair he gets a taste of that, too.

I love this scene so much. First of all there is the general fan girl squee. Then there is the hilarity of Sherlock being like a spoilt child - he's kind of like "I'll just compliment John and he'll forgive me" but then John walks off and Sherlock cannot believe that just happened. Then of course the adorableness of their friendship and how John has made him more human. I don't think there are many shows where 25 seconds has so much depth. Bloody brilliant.

Sherlock's idea of compliments "You're amazing! You're fantastic!" are exactly the same compliments John gives him when they first meet - as most people call him a freak, they're probably the only compliments he's ever recieved.

His idea of how to be nice to people is what he's learned from John.

His first attempt is to make a joke- but it doesn't work: John prefers to stick to the ice. Then Sherlock tries to explain his behaviour- it also doesn't work. Then he gets that John's main problem was how he hurted John's feelings saying ' I've no friends'.So he says 'I've just got one'. But John walks away anyway. At last Sherlock runs after him making compliments.

Can you upload the scene before this where Sherlock is trying to be funny to sort of break the ice for what happened last night? That's one of my top scenes in this episode because you can really tell that Sherlock feels guilty about how he treated John and I think that show how empathic he has become since he met John.
