The great thing about Agalloch beyond their music is the fact that they have cited Graveland and Burzum as prime influences. I thought that was very brave considering the metal/alternative magazines usually attack these bands as "racist". Agalloch didn't fear the smear----hail Agalloch. Hail Burzum and Graveland.

you might still think this is better after listening to my reccomendation cos' we all have our own taste and such... it really depends. I'd reccomend bluegrass like tony rice and ralph stanley or protest folk like woody guthrie and early dylan... but this is more similar to european folk so that's probably what you'd judge it by. fact is this type of thing isn't all that rare within neo folk. the music on ashes against the grain and the mantle is much more unique.
