I grew up watching these guys. I am an all around racing fan, but can anyone pose a serious argument that USAC racing on the high banks of Salem or Winchester is not as entertaining to watch as Cup cars at California? USAC needs to be put back on TV. Live. End of story.
My grandpa and i used to watch these when they came on tv! i was two years old and remember watching them with him but never remember the drives and who won! lol i race go karts and have become very successful i am trying to get a sprint or midget! My Grandpa used to race midgets in indiana before he had a had a health issue. keep them coming, this brings back good memories
@wheelman707 hey does your grandpa remember larry fritz? he finished second to mel kenyon in the midget championship in 1995 if you grandpa was still racing then? or he may remember him if he raced tq midgets

They both recovered...Carlson went on to race in the IRL and Durnwald is still active in sprint car racing as owner of Jimmy McCune's car.
