intense video...a brief moment just as the surface settles buddys like "F*&K"!! lol. i felt for ya there bro. excellent job with this!. .. "ah.. did i do that" lol!
The little kid in the video is such a dick . somebody just lost an expensive truck and they will have to paymad money to get it outta there and he's like bye bye!! bye bye! 1 i think there was wood in the bak of it. LMAO
farther away you are from the object. the more pulling power or weight needed to pull that truck out for from that far (looked over 100 feet) would need 8 times the weight of the truck. and rope would not cut it but was worth a try.
What I mean when I said about the rope hooked to the truck is, that rope would snap real easy stretched out that far. I have drove winter roads all my life and you use your head when it comes to driving on frozen lakes, you don't walk out twenty feet from shore with an auger and say theres two feet of ice here theres lots of ice.. No you walk out and drill a hole every fifty feet or so then do the math. It's not rocket science.
I just wanna know what they were thinking the backhoe was going to do a thousand yards away pulling while on ice with a rope hooked to the truck. I understand theres a need for winter roads but first of all why is there a plow truck on the lake when A) from what I can see theres not enough snow on the lake to plow B) Jodcur said and I quote "This appened in early winter not too soon after the water froze due to the low temperature" so WHY THE HELL WAS THE TRUCK ON THE LAKE
Not to mention, regarding the comments about the oil and fuel in the lake... The outboard boat motors that people run on that lake with two stroke engines put more polution in one summer than that truck ever did.
That is called a "winter road". How you get from the mainland to an island community for winter access. Boats have a hard time floating when the lake is frozen. Here we live with the environment, so not idiotic but resourceful.
All is well we got a new truck (flat bed not a plow truck though) here at Bear Island to replace this newly purchased new to the Temagami First Nation truck. It's just grand when a truck gets sunk and it 's replaced no problem.
How far out from shore was this?? And I am assuming that the area of the lake that is currently marked off with orange tape, is the location that the truck went down??
Thank you for the update on the truck removal. It is tragic that people do not use their heads and take a few minutes to think through their plans before bulling ahead.
The truck is out of the lake now. I don't know if the Temagami First Nation Band Council had ordered water samples be taken after the truck went down. And if water samples were taken after the truck had been dragged toward the beach. It would be a gross neglect on thier part to not have the water tested, as children swim at the beach where the truck went down and residents who are not on the water treatment plant get thier drinking water from the lake.
Oh, his Boss would be very angry , when he told him what`s happened to day.
