@Tigexslayer If you have the dlc to get Shale you have to visit Sulcher's Pass on the world map. A merchant over there will give you a rod, then Honnoleath appears on your map, go there to finish the quest and get Shale.

You will have to explore around in Honnoleath for items keys. The dungeon you need to enter is to the right of Shale when you're facing him. After you complete that dungeon talk to Shale and he will join you.
@S3raphyx Thank you for helping i actually did that but i found out later that it was some kind of bug. i did check the "bar" activate the stone prisioner but i restarted the game and then it was unchecked so i checkt it and the it worked but again, thanks for trying to help :) Great tutorial By the way

I'm not sure which area near the coast you're talking about. If it's the one in the top and center that's from the Warden's Keep DLC (or whatever it's called, don't remember). The one at the very top right is the "camp" where you can go talk to your party and rest.

Shale doesn't get any 'bigger' but the crystals do. It depends what kind of crystal since there are many types. The better quality the crystal the larger it is (and sometimes they will have other effects like glowing or being surrounded by lightning etc...)
Clear crystals are fairly common and a medium size, flawless crystals are the best.
cause in the guide i got when i went to shales paige it showed the bottom of the page him looks bigger with like im taller and his hands are fire and ice its pretty kool so i want to get him to look like tht
Everyone looks pretty different from the actual concept art unfortunately ;p take leliana for example, she looks 100x more bad ass in the concept art compared to the game. You can get the crystals to look like that most likely though.
Just try to find clear fire and ice crystals, or anything above clear (I think flawless is the only one higher I'm not sure)

i have a question. can you just add peopple to your group whenever you want like say i was sick of morgan and i wanted my dog, could i go to like a menu or something and swich her out or is it only when i get a new character?
You can sort of do it. At the very top of the screen there is a bar with buttons. All the way to the very right of that bar is a button with three people icons. If you click that it takes you to the character select window, however, in some areas the option is not available, and you can't switch party members while you are engaged in battle.

I'm pretty sure that icon in the top right with three people allows you to do that. It takes you to the screen where you select what party members you want to fight with you.
If the icon is not high lighted then the area you are in doesn't allow you to switch party members. You can do it any time the button is high lighted.
