Hypocrisy. The ACLU won't support those same freedoms for Christians. They want integration of mosque and state. The same ACLU that sues over Bible clubs and Nativity scenes has no problem with giving Muslims special prayer rooms and forcing kids to read teh Koran in public schools. Where is the ACLU's support for that Greek Orthodox church that was damaged?

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have religious freedom, but I think the only irony here is that if an american priest went to Iran and tried to establish a church there he'd most likely be hanging from a tree before giving his first sermon. Being a good example is nessecary of course, but it's just another way of looking at it. :)

I believe it was in Somalia a year or two back that they burned all churches and executed all the priests and many woshippers in one area of the country, and this year in March over 200 christians were killed in Nigeria as an act of jihad. But I completely agree with you that freedom of (and from) religion is a positive thing for any nation, and I didn't mean that we should resort to what was done in those countries. I merely pointed it out.

@moebaby2007 I'm not so bold as to say for certain which part religion plays in the motivaton of the killings in Sudan. Some of the people there are saying that it's a jihad, and I just trust them to know better than me since they live where these raids are taking place, have a better knowledge and understanding of the groups and so forth. All I can say for certain is that religious institutions are abusing power to make people violent, and that religion is used to justify the killings.

This ISSUE with Park51 is NOT about there Religion, it is and always HAS BEEN about the lack of insensitivity of the individuals that are wanting to place this "community center" near a location that Millions of people in NY/NJ/CT and around the nation. It is a Community center now right? It was initially going to be a Mosque / Community Center.

Then again, They also told Donald Trump that they would be happy to sell for 25 Million dollars as well, when he offered them 25% above what they payed
