I hope I'm wrong, but I had a crazy thought that those lockers in the back were where they have keepsakes of their dead loved ones... which would be a form of veneration of the dead, found in all the world's great cathedrals... scary. (I'm probably wrong, but I still have no idea what those lockers would be for.)
