What button? If the shutter is not going off when you press the shutter button, you may be shooting in low light and the focus is not locking. You can unlock the focus by going to manual or go to the menus to change focus settings.
question : when i try to take flash photos on my D3000 my camera doesn't let me take the shot..and were the USB connection is at this weird burning smell comes out of there when i try and take a shot with the flash on...is there something wrong with the flash on my camera or and i doing something wrong ?..someone help me out here please. ??
@tzethye i do believe the distance concerning specifically semi pro and expert is little these days. d7000 is perhaps all everyone need. go to... freedslr . cong change cong with com and take an opportunity win a new Nikon D7000
Great camera for a beginner. I've had mine for about a month and have taken 700-ish decent photos easily. A great product. Shame it doesn't have video capturing though.
I got one of these. I like some aspects of it better than the 5D I got. It's light as a feather. Great camera to learn on. The manual in the camera is a Supurb help to newb like I am and Was. (always learning.)
I think the video mode you are refering too is the ntsc or Pal mode for what country you are in, not video recording mode. The camera does not do video, sorry.
Great one word answer. I may even agree with you but I'm not sure I see your specific point. I have felt that way about things sometime so I know how you feel. Let me know how I can improve. You may end up being my best teacher.
Hey, I've had my camera for about 6 months and I like to use the auto-focus when I'm taking snapshots at family gatherings or holidays... It's not working anymore and I can't take any pictures in "Guide" or "Auto" mode. Have I accidentally changed a setting? Or does this need to be taken to a shop and get fixed?
hey I have a question can the Nikon D3000 take videos? please tell me it can my dad's already bought it for my birthday! I was looking at Nikon compact camera and it could take 720 and 1020 HD movies....please answer ASAP!
use the 'soften backgrounds' feature in Guide mode, also try 'portrait' mode. I got a D3000 some months ago and I love it. I think you'll find this camera will give you the results you want :-)
Good luck, If this is your first DLSR, you may want to get our training DVDs, as they will help you to makster the camera and the digital stuff at the same time . they are at our eliitevideo com site
this is a really great camera i really recommend this for people who want to change to a dslr camera from a digital camera or are just getting into the dslr world :D great vid
Very Good Tour. But in the little videos he did he was showing the D60. You can see this at 5:10 when you look at the option wheel there is not Guide Mode and at 5:46 the screen is smaller than the d3000. Just to let everyone know this. Also I think the plastic is slightly different. Anyway good tour.
@MrPizzacatoMan Yo´re very correct! and you can see the sensor to shot down the monitor when you put your eye in the viewfinder if you see 2:17 is the same! but how you said a good tour
well this is a great camera for starters. i just got it and i'm already feeling limited. first is shooting in 1600 iso setting <<< DON'T SHOOT IT AT 1600!!!. the camera is terrible under low light situation. i don't shoot higher than 800 iso now. other wise prepare for noise attack.

Wait, i have a Powershot SX10. And when i zoom it shows me on the lcd screan. So, on this camera, the picture doesn turn up on the LCD screan, just that little think u put ur eye up too? And can you see how far you zoomed on that little eye thing?
O---M----G i just realised, well with no live view - how do u kno if u have zoomed in correctly? u will have to find out after taking the picture :L and the moment could have gone :P
@iJaredMS slr's always look through the lens and see what the actual picture will look like when it's taken, that's like the whole point of an slr.... Not having liveview is kind of contrary to the point of having a digital slr though. At least you can see on the lcd what the picture you took looks like immediately, instead of having to wait till it's developed.
Its cheaper and has all those same features.you wont miss live view, just stick ya eye down the viewfinder the photo still comes up.the menu is great for beginners(wife) but allows me to act pro too
Well everyone loves his own camera, have fun with it. And at the end it's the person behind the camera that makes good photos not the camera itself.
I cannot tell more because Canon is my first DSLR maybe the next one will be a Nikon who knows, I'm not some fan of Canon I just noticed that it is very alike than the Canon model.

sugarcoma82 1 year ago
Some packages they sell with the camera body don't. You may want to look on ebay for one if that is an important feature for you.
silverond 1 year ago
@sugarcoma82 I'm curious, what is the purpose of the VB?
esdasthoj 1 year ago
@esdasthoj You mean VR? If that's what you mean, it just reduces the vibration from a shaky hand or whatever to help produce a clearer picture.
