  • D sdhc cards fits this camera?

  • Do you get a remote control with it ?

  • on this camera can you put to long exposure?

  • Yes you can do long exposure or bulb mode.

  • how to do you set it to shutter?? i pressed the button for a long time and it wouldnt shutter.

  • What button? If the shutter is not going off when you press the shutter button, you may be shooting in low light and the focus is not locking. You can unlock the focus by going to manual or go to the menus to change focus settings.

  • Thank you! I just got this camera today and it was great to just watch this and get a general idea of its layout.

  • Did anyone notice his voice change

  • I did.

  • what is the diffrence betwen DSLR n SDLR...??

  • BAM ! it's gone ...

  • You need to get that in under warrantee

  • is it good for paparazzi?

  • @tzethye i do believe the distance concerning specifically semi pro and expert is little these days. d7000 is perhaps all everyone need. go to... freedslr . cong change cong with com and take an opportunity win a new Nikon D7000

  • With a good training video :) you should be able to handle it, But you have to ask yourself, what are you trying to do with the camera?

  • Very helpful. Thanks

  • no it can not sorry Get the D5000 for that.

  • @jonvideo ?

  • Can it record video??

  • I just got the d3000 so I was wondering why my lens doesn't have the vibration reduction on it?

  • Some packages they sell with the camera body don't. You may want to look on ebay for one if that is an important feature for you.

  • @sugarcoma82 I'm curious, what is the purpose of the VB?

  • @esdasthoj You mean VR? If that's what you mean, it just reduces the vibration from a shaky hand or whatever to help produce a clearer picture.

  • wheres the shutter speed..

  • it's not hard to figure out what button does what, teach us how to get the best photo for the situation.. that would be the most helpful.

  • For that you have to buy the videos, If you cant afford them let me know, I make big discounts for people in cash strapped situations.

  • what's playback mode?

  • i tihnk i could get the D3100 too, not much more money for 14 mpx and Full HD video and live view

  • bam it's gone!

  • Great camera for a beginner. I've had mine for about a month and have taken 700-ish decent photos easily. A great product. Shame it doesn't have video capturing though.

  • hi i am also using the nikon d3000.im still new to it and still learning how to use the modes.i would like to know if d3000 support telephoto lenses

  • nice ty

  • great camera for beginners. Im having fun with it. Thinking about getting the D5000 next.

  • you've actually really helped me out! thanks so much mate (:

  • I love this camera!! I started with a Nikon coolpix s203 and now im ready for the D3000.

  • I got one of these. I like some aspects of it better than the 5D I got. It's light as a feather. Great camera to learn on. The manual in the camera is a Supurb help to newb like I am and Was. (always learning.)

  • Thank you so much Jon. Now I feel it was worth buying a Nikon d3000. I'm gonna watch some more of your tutorial.

  • HEY, VERY INFORMATIVE. GREAT VOICE TOO, FOR EXPLAINING THINGS.

  • would u recommend it for beginners like me?

  • Wow thank you SO much. I just got this camera and I love it, and you helped me learn a lot about it.

  • Hey i was wondering if the Nikon D3000 can take video

i was looking on my menu and it has a video mode but im not sure how to get my camera to actully take a video

    can anyone help me please

    thank you

  • I think the video mode you are refering too is the ntsc or Pal mode for what country you are in, not video recording mode. The camera does not do video, sorry.

  • Great one word answer. I may even agree with you but I'm not sure I see your specific point. I have felt that way about things sometime so I know how you feel. Let me know how I can improve. You may end up being my best teacher.

  • @jonvideo i was just upset when I heard that it doesnt have a video feature

  • I was wonder if the Nikon D3000 takes video

i was looking on the menu and it has a video mode but im ont surehow to make it actully take videos.

    can anyone help ?

  • Hey, I've had my camera for about 6 months and I like to use the auto-focus when I'm taking snapshots at family gatherings or holidays... It's not working anymore and I can't take any pictures in "Guide" or "Auto" mode. Have I accidentally changed a setting? Or does this need to be taken to a shop and get fixed?

    Please answer asap! Thanks :)

  • Hey do you know ho water resistant the camera is?

  • I wouldn't trust it for more than some raindrops. You may want to get some kind of case.

  • um can i record with it ?

  • hey I have a question can the Nikon D3000 take videos? please tell me it can my dad's already bought it for my birthday! I was looking at Nikon compact camera and it could take 720 and 1020 HD movies....please answer ASAP!

  • It does not, but the D5000 does.

  • @benjiluvyuri Sorry. It can not!

  • watch?v=Qf7JxswDZg8

    watch my vid.

  • Thanks a bunch.

  • Thank you so much! This helped loads!!

  • im new to photography and im getting this camera how would you use focus like to focus on the pic and blur the backround?

  • @TheAphotographer you have to set it in aperture priority mode and select a smaller f number, also use a lens with a bigger focal length.

  • use the 'soften backgrounds' feature in Guide mode, also try 'portrait' mode. I got a D3000 some months ago and I love it. I think you'll find this camera will give you the results you want :-)

  • does it record videos?

  • I just ordered this. Finally saved up enough for it. Will be my first SDLR...

    wish me luck :D

  • Good luck, If this is your first DLSR, you may want to get our training DVDs, as they will help you to makster the camera and the digital stuff at the same time . they are at our eliitevideo com site

  • @jonvideo simplay take the vids on utube of "camaralabs" made by gordon, those are really gr8 and for free ;DD

  • @gitnerd I just got mine last week.

Boy do I need some practice :(

How are you doing with the d3000?

  • @gitnerd Me too :)

  • @gitnerd We're the same, I was like "OH YEAH, I BOUGHT A D3000 modha facka!"

Then tomorrow, D3100 was release and the price was not so big of a difference

I was like "OH FUCK THIS D3000! I HATE MYSELF"

  • @gitnerd DSLR*

  • @gitnerd me to luck

  • Comment removed

  • @silverond

    Tahnk you very much!

  • Can you see when you zoom in through the viewfinder

  • Yes you can

  • That VR thing is not always standard on it when you buy the 18-55 kit, is it?

  • this is a really great camera i really recommend this for people who want to change to a dslr camera from a digital camera or are just getting into the dslr world :D great vid

  • Very Good Tour. But in the little videos he did he was showing the D60. You can see this at 5:10 when you look at the option wheel there is not Guide Mode and at 5:46 the screen is smaller than the d3000. Just to let everyone know this. Also I think the plastic is slightly different. Anyway good tour.

    Thanks

  • @MrPizzacatoMan Yo´re very correct! and you can see the sensor to shot down the monitor when you put your eye in the viewfinder if you see 2:17 is the same! but how you said a good tour

  • this was so helpful.. Thanks a bunch.. You can get a lens hood for this lense or any lense at amazon, ebay B&H or any photography store =)

  • COME ON SANTA, I want mine.....its getting close....it will will be mine!

  • santa came early to my house ha ha

  • did you get one? :)

  • im getting it for christmas : D

  • oh nice...

    me tooo!!!!

    bye

  • it is just a great camera for begginers. if you need something else from it, you are not a begginer. hehehehe

  • well this is a great camera for starters. i just got it and i'm already feeling limited. first is shooting in 1600 iso setting <<< DON'T SHOOT IT AT 1600!!!. the camera is terrible under low light situation. i don't shoot higher than 800 iso now. other wise prepare for noise attack.

  • You haven't seen a better LCD? Seriously? I have the D3000 and it's just decent. The D90 has a far better LCD.

  • A couple people asking where they can get this camera. You can order this camera online from pretty much any retailer that sells electronics. Walmart, Best Buy, B&H photo, Ritz Camera, Wolf Camera, Newegg, Amazon, etc.. I wouldn't trust some of these to have it in-store but it will definitely be available online.

Retail price is 549.99 but you can find it cheaper.

  • wow 550 dollars!!! in spain u can find it for 455 euros... 682 dollars-

  • @Belphegor83 I bought mine for $451 at Amazon. :D

  • D3000 is amazing, i got mine a month ago and i LOVE IT! <3

  • thats it im getting the d3000

  • where can u get this camera? (at the cheapest) i want it sooo bad!!:( im 15 and i am really intereted in photography but i dont know if my parents will buy me it:(

  • @prettycookies12 I'm 15 too! and I really really want it!

  • i just got the d3000 today, AMAZING

  • GRRR! I want it sooooo badd!

  • Does the viewfinder zoom in? Because it kind of has to!

  • I was wondering whether to get this camera for christmas, but you have persuaded me, very nice video, thanks!

  • As a novice entering the SLR's I'm not sure if I should choose D3000 or D5000. I don't care that much about the video and like the great help afforded by the D3000. Which camera do you recommend for a novice?

  • I got the d3000 yesterday and its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its my first slr so I know what you mean.

  • Thanks - I am leaning towards the 3000 just because of the interactive help menu

  • Wait, i have a Powershot SX10. And when i zoom it shows me on the lcd screan. So, on this camera, the picture doesn turn up on the LCD screan, just that little think u put ur eye up too? And can you see how far you zoomed on that little eye thing?

  • O---M----G i just realised, well with no live view - how do u kno if u have zoomed in correctly? u will have to find out after taking the picture :L and the moment could have gone :P

  • Would the viewfinder work for you?

  • learn how a real camera works...

  • @FuturisticXXL You can see the zoom in the viewfinder i Ithink.

  • @iJaredMS slr's always look through the lens and see what the actual picture will look like when it's taken, that's like the whole point of an slr.... Not having liveview is kind of contrary to the point of having a digital slr though. At least you can see on the lcd what the picture you took looks like immediately, instead of having to wait till it's developed.

  • @chimera15 Even my super old c-3000 has live view...I mean wth is with Nikon.

  • @FuturisticXXL ur stupid if u don't know what a viewfinder is

  • @FuturisticXXL thinking before writing

  • Price is aprox 500 EUR,Nikon d300 + 18-55

  • how much d3000 price?

  • no live view -- sucks

  • Canon 450D has all theese functions and more a.k.a this is coppy of a Canon. Check that review and be amazed of the alikness.

  • You also want to compare image quality and durability of the camera itself.

  • Its cheaper and has all those same features.you wont miss live view, just stick ya eye down the viewfinder the photo still comes up.the menu is great for beginners(wife) but allows me to act pro too

  • Well everyone loves his own camera, have fun with it. And at the end it's the person behind the camera that makes good photos not the camera itself.

I cannot tell more because Canon is my first DSLR maybe the next one will be a Nikon who knows, I'm not some fan of Canon I just noticed that it is very alike than the Canon model.

  • if you like "canon" so much then watch videos of canon instead of Nikon! GOOOOO NIKON!!

  • nikon d3000 has better images. saw them in digital photog review website, i think the d3000 expeed processor was just like in d60's

  • i got mine yesterday .... :) /happy :)

  • me too...10.04.09

  • Beautiful Camera. Got mine today and i am extremly happy with it.

  • D60 and D3000, which one better?

  • What do you think?

  • D60 are not being produced anymore

  • D3000 is the Replacement for the D60

  • I read this camera has no Live View Mode ? What does mean in DSLR world ? The LCd doesnt show the subject ? Only menus ? Thanks

  • No big deal Live View is just for people who cant learn how to take a shot.the shot still turns up on the LARGE LCD screen

  • AND 1;33 SECOND TO END ITS D60 NO D3000

  • Got mine today :D :D VERY nice camera.. !

  • Expecting mine by thursday. Ordered it this weekend.

  • Getting mine on Tuesday in the mail! Very excited :D

  • Hehe i'm getting mine on wedensday :D Also by mail.. i think i'm just as exited as you :)

  • Nice work on this one. Just picked up one of these today.

  • i want this soooo bad

  • reminds me of the d60

  • It's actually the replacement for the D60.

  • VERY similar camera with a 3 inch screen at the back instead of a 2.5 inch screen
