lol, .50 cal is enough power, a 20mm lahti(spelling?) is an AT, usually mounted, but 50mm? lol, the 203's you put on that tiney thing are 40mm.... but 50? haven't heard of that one i better add it to my christmass list
@karlosthejakel It doesnt fire the 50 EA it fires the 50 beowolf its the same length as 5.56 NATO that why you can use an m-16/ar15 lower you just have to replace the upper
I don't think think this kid knows how long one millimeter is.. 1 inch is about 25.. 50 would be 2 inches, correct me if i'm wrong but thats about half the size of a standard artillery shell
put it this way, a 50mm round/ rifle round, would knock you down or posibly break your shoulder, .50 cal is what comes out of a .50 M82A1/M107, what it looks like you have is a .50 beowolf, wich really isn't a rifle cartridge even... its a desert eagle auto espress round just about twice as long thats it...
thanks to the brilliant insight of the team youtube scientists, it appears that its been determined that this is NOT in fact a 50mm weapon... just it case it wasnt clear
To all those people out there wondering "what the hell?" i think hes talking about the scope or at least thats a reasnoble explanation (i know jack shit about scopes)
p.s. if that was a 50 mm gun it would be like a small mortar shell or something from a mounted turret
if anyone knew anything about anything on here they'd know that a .50 cal is a half inch diameter round.. "caliber" is a nice way of not having to say "half inch" or "almost but not quite a quarter inch" ..like the .223 / 5.56mm ..imagine a 50mm rifle.. rofl. that would be like 2.5 inches across.
Doesn't sound like a .50 Beowulf, but when you're recording on a cell phone camera or whatever this is, that's not saying much. Probably .223/5.56mm though. Finding an AR in .50 Beowulf is rare and the ammo tends to be expensive. 2 stars for saying it's 50mm. That's just dumb.
I totally agree with you... if that was a .50 cal, that kid would be laying on the ground right now. And that gun is just an assault rifle so there really isn't a use for that huge scope on it.
im pretty sure that is either a 5.56 (ar15) or possibly a .308 (ar10) however you just dont give a kid that size a .50 cal. it would probably knock them on their ass. 50 mm is over two inches and as previously mentioned humans cant really compensate for that power with a shoulder
That isnt a 50 mm, or a 50 cal, or anything with a "50" in it. That was just an example of an idiot who thinks he is awesom for shooting a .223. It doesnt even look like a 7.62mm......
OR it could be a .50 beowulf chambered AR15 upper. In fact, it probably is with that recoil. and for the video poster, its .50 caliber. 50mm would be like 2 friggin inches, and that'd be a grenade, or mortar, or something big like that.
OK.... You aren't holding the gun right, you can't seem to handle a .308 (looks like an AR-10 but it might be a .223) And 50mm rounds are used in tanks and coastal guns. .50 caliber is the proper term. In millimeters it the diameter 12.7x99mm(~13mm)
And an AR-10 is a .308 not a "50mm". If you can bitch out that much on a .308 to believe it is a coastal gun, you need to lift some weights. And you look as if your eye is too far for scope eye relief so you probably can't aim either. Take a course.
50mm is used really neither on light vehicles or tanks. The last real production 50mm was the Pak38 during WW2 a carriage mounted anti-tank weapon later replaced with a larger caliber weapon. As for .50cal JTZ is correct that would be a 12.7mm weapon. Anyway the point is the gun in this video is neither... probably a .223 or .308 (sounds more like a .308) but the video quality is horrible so who knows.
Yeah it's hard to tell. Definatly agree that it's probably only a .308
Be funny to see someone fire a 50mm round using a rifle standing in that stance...he'd probably leave an indentation on the earth with his ass after firing.
I don't think this guy knows a bit about what he is saying, its interesting to see someone control the recoil on that rifle without a muzzle break and in such a small platform i don't think this is anywhere close to a 50 BMG
ppl need 2 stop confusin mm 4 cal., if at all that was a .50cal, not mm, if it was mm, u could barely hold it at all....let alone shoot it without a stand or ur ass would get blown down
are you sure it isnt a Beowulf upper receiver for the m4/m16? It is a .50 cal conversion kit for these rifles that can fire specially designed .50 cal cartidges. It only needs to use a 7.62 mm bolt face aswell. Hell of a kick to it :P

@kerley1991 There is actually a shoulder fired 76mm in development. Its quite effective with very little recoil for the amount of powder.

The rifle is a Alexander Arms Beowolf, its firing the .50AE round. Not all AR's are chambered for 5.56 or 7.62.
Although its not 50mm or a sniper rifle...

.50 and 50mm are very different. .50 is 12.7mm, really for rifle. 50 mm is for cannon and maybe grenade launcher(m79 has 40mm).
