i hope the new iPhone will have better protective material..

so that it won't succumb to cracks when accidentally knocked or dropped.

oh and also perhaps a "cover" for the earpieace socket, so there'll be less of a chance for water to get in shld it start drizzling while you're out. the 30-pin area too. cheers

So much for the apple bumper. I knew from day one that the bumper was a fairly useless accessory. I've dropped my iphone4 over a dozen times in the year I've owned my iphone4. Not as much as a scratch. How? A good traditional case with a screen protector on the front and back. If I removed the case and the screen protectors, you would be hard pressed to determine whether the iphone was new or used.

My backplate was cracked and I did a video on that check it out but I know the front plate is going to b bit more complicated

Did you have a screen protector on there? I've heard that having a screen protector can keep your screen from cracking in most minor circumstances.

@collintheapplegeek I did not use a screen protector because the glass on the iPhone 4 is extremely scratch resistant. Maybe I should have ;-(

I've got a very thin case on my iPhone 4, but somehow it seems to protect it very well. I'e dropped my iPhone 4 tons of times without and damage. I've also accidentally submerged my iPhone 4 underwater for about 30 seconds, and it never stopped working.
