  • Love this o g

  • Thanks so much i'm now on track with my english! Thanks again! x

  • I think that the "racisim" should have been a larger point in your review. In my view, the entire book was centered around the fact that people are unjustly accused or persecuted based on their race or in Boo Radly's case, percieved mental retardation. Also, the juxtoposition of the book being released in the 1960's against the backdrop of the Civil Race Riots is a very big point to cross...

  • My teacher says To Kill A Mockingbird is all about Harper Lee expressing her ideas of prejudice, based on her own experience. Is this true?

  • @Normalaatsra Harper Lee's own father was a lawyer in southern America who defended African Americans on trial. Lee had a friend named Truman Capote, who the character Dill is based on. There was even a boarded up house down the block from her where a kid got in trouble, and was kept inside for over 20 years. It's safe to say that she was drawing from her own experience.

  • At first, I hated it but by the end of the review, was laughing my ass off. BTW It's pronounced may-come.

  • @adamjdiamond Thanks hommie. He says a lot of stuff weird, but he also reads the entire book in one sitting so... you've gotta lose a detail here or there.

  • These are absolutely amazing. Great for readers and non-readers! You've definitely found a fun approach to it. I'd love to see you discuss some of Mark Twain's work- Or even maybe The Scarlett Letter. That would be entertaining!

  • @ParadoxAndPlaid Thanks for the suggestions, and the compliment hommie.

  • hey, it would be really cool if you can summarize "The Chrysalids" by John Wyndham... That was a REALLY great (and short) book!!

  • @yohanceboisselle We'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Great review... But what about the Title? How does the act of killing a mockingbird, whether meant metaphorically, or literally, fit into the story?

  • @yohanceboisselle Scout and Jem get air rifles, and Atticus doesn't really want them shooting birds, he says he'd rather have them shoot cans n shit. He said shoot at the bluejeys if you can manage to hit them, but it's a sin to kill a mockingbird. ONLY time Atticus says it's a sin to do something. Mockingbrids don't do anything except make music by singing for people. Tom Robinson = the mockingbird (sorta).

  • @yohanceboisselle boo also represents a mockingbird. Neither of them do anything to really harm people, but they're troublesome in the wrong ways.

  • LMB: blowin up houses.

  • Thanks for the shout out! You could do "The Outsiders" .... Gangs and S**T !

  • @CrispGalaxy no problem holmes. Hmmm I remember The Outsiders from high school. We'll add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion.

  • I LOVE YOU

  • @hatchhatchhatch we love you too, but we're not in love with you. Lets's not get ahead of ourselves dog.
