Before you start challenging that, hear me out. In a few games, Mario World most notably, Mario can run up walls. To run up walls, you must go faster than the escape velocity of the earth, which is just under 7 miles per second. That means that Mario can run 7 miles every second. Against those odds, Sonic can't win.

If he had some type of power up he could last a few more seconds, but if Sonic can avoid gun shots and lazers I think he can avoid a fireball. Star Power could protect Mario, but Sonic could still outrun him until it wears off. Let alone if Sonic has a type of power up.

OK enough saying "sonic cant swim" he can run on the water so he doesnt need to swim plus he has super speed wall jump he has fighting abilities he can run up walls he can mutherfucking drift like a car he can jump high he has extreme agility -i never saw mario dodge any attacks except by jumping over it- sonic can also use spin dash homing attack he has spines on his body so mario cant touch him while he is spin dashing or using homing attack mario cant even run on walls so sinceimoutofword bye

@tengisandluigi allow me to give you a 411 on this whole "mario would tootally pwn sawnic" thing. sonic's not a normal hedgehog, he's a blue, anthromorphic hedgehog that runs at the speed of sound, who, when applied logic, can punch with 58,000 pounds of force, that's enough force to indirectly blow you away if here were to stop on a dime, which he can.

Does anyone else realize how ridiculous this is? I love Mario and no offense to any of his fans, but Sonic could literally run circles around him before he had a chance to move. If he had some type of power up he could last a few more seconds, but if Sonic can avoid gun shots and lazers I think he can avoid a fireball. Star Power could protect Mario, but Sonic could still outrun him until it wears off. Let alone if Sonic has a type of power up.
