@hamzahk98 I've had it for 6 mothns now and I am very pleased with it. It may also have to do with running Ubuntu on it. The only drawback is the on-board video card - no 3D, HD or graphic-intensive applications feeel at home on this netbook.
@awan128 Hi! This netbook is not intended for gaming. It will run some 3D games, but you will get lousy FPS rate out of it and you will not be able to play. This device is for office work, multimedia and perhaps some light graphics or programming.
@ZotikosDesign hello! im asking for this netbook for christmas and before i do i need to know somethings. does it have bluetooth because i am desperate to know and how do i know for sure that im getting bluetooth? also, is it compatable with a broadband dongle in the uk? thank you so much! i need to know by tonight if possible and good video by the way. THANK YOU!!! also, where did you buy yours?
@Amy1directionxxx Hello! It does not have Bluetooth. (I suppose you'll have to manage with an external USB Bluetooth adapter.) I don't know about the UK, but I frequently use mine with a USB Broadband modem (with a SIM card inside) from Orange, here in Romania. I bought mine from Emag, a Romanian on-line shop.
@ZotikosDesign thank you very much! i'm getting one in yellow! i found it with Bluetooth on a British website called amazon.co.UK too!! thank you for your help!!! :D
@sweetsandprincess I think that the absolute best thing to do is to keep it plugged in with the battery removed. And when you're going away (plane, bus, car...) and you have no access to a socket, then you can put the battery in and use it. That's the very best thing you can do. But nobody really bothers to remove the battery when indoors...
Yes, it works great as a web browsing, entertainment and office platform. I use it 95% of the time both for school and work. When I need to design something (photo editing, digital graphics, simple 3D modelling) I connect it to a 22'' monitor and use it as a desktop. Sort of..
When things get too complicated I turn back to my more powerful laptop.
But why in the world would you want to install Windows 7? It will take up more than half your RAM just by being idle, with no programs running!
10q very much for the response ... and if you installed windows 7 can you tell me what marks can it get?? i'm not planning of playing any high performance games ... just wanna buy it for mobility. and have 2 gb of ram and the new n570 procesor is quite a bit. so if i understand right ... for browsing and generaly working on it listening to some music it works great. I am going to buy the Black version called the Acer Aspire One D257 i think that has the same specs
i am thinking of buying on with the same specs only that is black ... can you tell me how it runs?? and can it be compared with the Dell mini 10 1018 and if the new N570 processor makes any difference???
@bounty88 I used to carry my old laptop (Lenovo 3000) around everywhere I went. It was rather heavy, but that was acceptable at the time. But this netbook brought mobility to a whole new level.
The advantage of the small size and 1kg weight are apparent. But the feature I am mostly impressed by is the battery life. It lasts for 5 hours when fully loaded.
The keyboard is usable and the fact that the display has a wide aspect ratio makes up for its small diagonal.
@bounty88 as for the performance, it does everything I expect it to with ease. There's plenty of space on the hard drive (320 GB). It has 2 GBs of RAM to which I've added a 10 GB swap partition (I'm running Ubuntu). In this way I never ran low on memory.
The processor is excellent. I think it's a dual core, but the OS sees it as a quad-core and uses it in accordance - hooray for me :D All-in-all I think you get the same performance as you'd get from a top-range laptop about two years ago.
@bounty88 The only fallback is, of course, the graphics adapter. It hasn't got a dedicated video card, so 3D games are out of the question (they work, but you only get 2-3 FPS :)) ). I use it for 3D modelling (Blender) and it copes until I get to about 100.000 vertices, at which point it slows down horribly.
Surprisingly, it's very agile when rendering still frames.
Oh my neck!....

@neeru2011234 You can't put it directly into the netbook. You need a USB Modem for the SIM card.
