if you guys like this movie, i think you will also like the film 'arranged' about a friendship between an orthodox jewish girl and a muslim girl. really nice film.
@rivkah Not necessarily. I myself am a Catholic and I possess none of those things in my home, just a plain wooden cross over my bed. What you see is common in Hispanic homes: small devotional altars with figures of saints and martyrs.
It could also be a Santería altar. Santería is a hybrid religion invented by slaves in the Spanish Caribbean. They had to hide African religion under the guise of Catholicism. Some Puerto Ricans still practice it. CONTD
@rivkah If she is using incense like I think she is, it is a possibility: Catholics don't burn incense in their houses. Incense is mostly used for very special occasions like Easter or Xmas, rarely funerals. It is used for blessing things and only a PRIEST can do this.
it isn't the same hell as in with a devil etc but there does exist a sort of cosequence/purification one supposedly will go through before being united with

i love the spanish mother; though why does she light so many candles and do those things with incence, it is catholicism no?
