It was a little insensitive of him not regarding her with any tenderness, when he had knowledge of what led to her being commited there. She looked a little hollowed out and traumatised by her life prior to hospitalisation. I would've smothered her in endless love and understanding. She is truly beautiful with or without make up on. I simply adore her performances. No Hollywood affectations either. .Just raw emotions all round. A healthy addition.

Joseph gordon levitt is intense and brooding, and ultimately charismatic and loveable. 10/10 for highlighting a neglected subject matter that hollywood is so reluctant to portray with any humanity or enlightenment. Love the hand held camera thing going on too! Should be more actors like this in the glut of dire movies shipped to our ghastly multiplexes for our collective consumption, and they really SUCK! big time! are we really that culturally bankrupt? feeling a little superior!

A fine and sensitive portrayal of youth f****d up by our lousy society. Believable esp to anyone who has ever been unfortunate enough to have had a stay in a psych ward, on the journey towards, (gasp) adulthood. They could've gone into more of the depths of their damaged psyches. I love Zooey, she proves that a young girl can look beautiful without being pancaked in make up, high fashion. But can be just as captivating on account of human virtue, and fragility, which is way more appealing.

I think Gordon-Levitt is a genius, when he screams at her and the tries to kiss her, it really convey's how the character just doesn't know how to have a normal relationship. You can't hit someone and then tell them you love them, but it doesn't occur to him.

I love this movie! It is tied for my top two favorite movies of all time, the other being "Girl, Interrupted." JGL does an awesome job but Zooey Deschanel is great too. I think her acting in this movie is amazing. She really shows her character. I love this clip too. One of many amazing scenes in this movie. I think I'll go watch it now... :o)
