@tykauai when you build the woofer box you build the port to a specific frequency. but you cant actually tune a box like you would with an amp unless you had a removable port. so when they say the box is "tuned" that just means the specs the box was built to.
already commented i know - sorry. but i watched this vid again as inspiration for my own builds and i was wondering a) what type/company paint are you using for the black on the outside? and b) how do you apply the paint so smoothly - roller, spray?
the subs are 1400$ for a pair. Email ed@t3audio.com and ask him if they can still get em. But i doubt they can! I run two dc level 6 15's on 14k of crossfire power now! The paint is oil based paint applied with a foam roller only. Sand wig 220 first
how can i buy a set of the 12's ?? i went to ther page and you cant buy them ?? how do you paint mdf and what made you not put that badass t3 cuff on the enclosure ??
VERY nice work my man.... Subbed and definatly will be checkin your vids out. I see why your T3's doin work. That SOB is one manley lookin sub. It's gettin down in your ride. Tearin shit up like 2 12's...
Im'a start my box build this weekend for the SA-12 hopfully. Picking up a sheet of MDF today after work, then need to get some resin for the kerf cuts, brass threaded rod for terminations, and a couple sets of clamps. More glue than screws FTW.
@Monkeypumper420 THANKS MAN! My box is tuned to 38hz in all the vids but I just inverted the sub so now its tuned at 36 and sounds great. I've done a few builds for sa-12's and I would strongly recommend doing 2 cubes after displacement and tune between 33 and 36 hz.. Here are the dementions I used for that subs H14"-W25"-D18" port piece number two will be 10 inches wide on the inside and the port itself will be 2.5" wide. this will put you right at 2.10 cubes net at 33.4 hz
@MakeLuvNotKids, dude, thanks for the heads up on the box info! I *was* going to try something VERY close to that box, but your dimentions have to change a tad to fit my available space. I was thinking H13.5''-W30''-D16'' with a 2.5'' wide port. Port piece #1 is 14'' long, piece # 2 will be 21'' long - for a tune of 32hz. I know I'll be hitting harder a lil lower which is what I want, but don't want to sacrifice too much spl and have an inefficient box. Should I try to tune to ~33-34hz?
@Monkeypumper420 well I cant say if you should tune to 33 or 34 because I dont know what your car peaks at but I think 34 would be a great tuning or even 36. If you can get as close to the dementions I did for the better because I kept the box rise really low with the dementions and tuning witch play a huge factor in the performance.
@gtpower87 thanks a lot man! Yeah I just dont like cutting holes in my Beautiful boxes. I like getting on direct connection. But Im selling the set up so Im not gonna mess with it. I gonna get some more tsns subs on a kicker warhorse! :)
@MakeLuvNotKids How did you figure that it's at 38Hz "on the money"?? Is there a program that you used, or did you just do a ton of math to figure it out?
@subsgob00m there is actually a few programs I used just to make sure and yes a lot of math. I added all displacements including sub, 45's, kerf, baffle, even the oz's of fiberglass that lines the box. Ed lester from t3 audio gave me a lot of help with tuning also so big thanks to him and Johnathan Both
Nice try on the kerf, if you do some math you could find that you could use less cuts and get a more even bend. Also, must me more for looks too, cuz if it was for performance you would of flared the inside too...
Rebuild time, haha. depending on your blade width you need around 12 cuts, spaced the cuts evenly teh same distance as 1/4 the circumference of the circle of the radius you want the bend. also, it doesnt look like you did it, but you should back it with fiberglass for strength
@fritosaregood It is for performance. I did not flare the out side due to not have any more space to give up. The flare is an even bend so Im not sure what your looking at? This isnt my first kerfed box buddy but thanks for trying to help! Rebuild time" I dont think so!! The entire box is fiber glassed and a resin concreet mix. Super dead. This 12 beat a DC 5 18 in the same size car on the same RMS So I must be doing something right.
@fritosaregood the dc level 5 was in a toyota carolla in a 6 cube box tuned to the same as mine. Both on the same RMS power and both in the trunk with seats down. Was the most fair you could get. Kicked some ass! They guy is really good friends with someone who has a DC level 6 on 5k walled in his car and he said my sub hangs with his. T3 is better than dc your right. Im not rejecting your help it just you make a dumb comment like "Rebuild time hahaha" on my video, great advice!
@fritosaregood o and also Maybe you have built more kerfed boxes than me, I've only built maybe 25-30 of them but that doesnt mean Im not damn good at what I do! ;)
@fritosaregood IDK yet i should be metering it over at audio depo in Arlington tx In a few weeks and I'll make sure i get some videos of that. my voltage still drops to like 13.6 at full tilt even with the 260 amp mechman because of belt issues. Every thing I cut from the baffle to the kerfs is cut with a SUPER SHITTY skill saw or my jigsaw. I've dont have a table saw but yeah 12 cuts is plenty. The kerf is so wide because of the testing I did with some btls. Got 2.5 db gain with the wider kerf
lucky.. ive got a dc 270xp and drop to 12.7s on 3k and my mechman drop horribly.. like 11s i had my stupid accords belt.
but i do all my cuts with a skill saw, the table saw is to bulky for me. Ive been wanting to test some ellipse style kerfs to see how it does over just round. termlabs are fun to own when you wanna test everything.
@fritosaregood I wish I knew someone who I didnt have to pay to use a termlab. I kinda wanna try port tubes with the tsns. I should be doing a new build within the next 6 months. Kicker war horse on 10 Sundown sa12's or two TSNS 18's not sure yet. My system is up for sale. 1,100$ takes it home. Thats Box, battery, sub and 2/0 power wire. just ready for the comps
10 SA 12s would be nice. Ive got a pair in the 50s on an sae 1200d. and you just gotta browse forums till you find a TL forsale, I got my dual mic one for 450
The fast version of Pretty Boy Swag is different :O ! That T3 sub is ballin ass sexy sheeet . LOVE that its inverted in the pics.
Hey man for recording bass videos look into the Kodak Zi8 , I think they sale for under 125$ now. Its what I use ! Good video of a GREAT sub and box none the less :)
omg dude thats fukin sick box build i saw ur comment on exo page and i came to look but ur box and sub r nutz im building a box righ now for 2 12s and i wanna kno how u made that curve with the wood my box is huge 5 ina half cubic feet but if u could help me out on that it would be great i subscribed to u too btw
@bigdaddi420 The bend in the MDF is called a "kerf" You cut lines in the mdf 1/2 inch appart and only 1/16 from going all they way through the wood. IT TAKES PRACTICE. all the lines must be straight and even best if you use a table saw "but I use a skill saw by hand because I got skills lol" Search MDF kerfing on youtube to see how its done. THank you for the subscription!
@MakeLuvNotKids ahhhhh i c thank u so much bro im gunna look into that and if i can get my cam fixed ill post a vid and deff do a shoutout to u cuz that thing is a monstar keep it banging
@Jettaproject86 Alright man will do for sure. And LOL at the 3/8's comment. IDK the exact mesaurement just going of the movement of the black dots on my windshield :)
nice video man ill have to subscribe but that thing is nasty cant wait to get mine playing like it should and no still know big three ill hit cha up on fb

Ok, its the internet, and your a genius.. Ive just probably build more kerfs and kerfed boxes than youve seen.
but reject help when its offered...
and the 18 was probably cramped up in a tiny truck. plus T3s technology is alot better than DC

Rebuild time was a joke, maybe i should of said LOL.. or a happy face.
but trust me, you only need 12 cuts at most, unless you have a really thin blade. My first comment wasnt to call you a dumbass.
just curious what did you hit with it. and was it dash or kick?
