On Sept 1 1939 my school and I were evacuated from this station. I didn't come home till 1944. Not long after that the V1 raids began, then the V2.

From here, this is where service's for East Anglia go from. Intercity services to Ipswich and Norwich. Plus towns on the Essex coast like Southend & Harwich.
