  • Precious childhood memories of riding in the car and hearing this on the radio.

  • Dawson's Creek is an awesome show, and this song always reminds me of the show.

  • This takes me back to when VH1 was at its absolute best: music videos most of the day, mostly adult contemporary pop/rock, with the occasional trashy "Behind the Music" documentary. Now, what's on VH1? Mob Wives and 40 Greatest Celebrity Divorce Settlements.

  • I love this song, good to hear it after so long... Yes I agree the video is not appropriate and thats where I guess she says Sorry twice in this song... Thanks for posting this anyways :)

  • this reminds me of when i was 12

  • i remember listening to this in the car with my mom when i was little. i may only be a teenager, but i still love the 90s better than today!

  • This song makes me think of my childhood.

  • one of my fave from PC, remembering my college days

  • damn, i love this song but she got some hairy arm pits!

  • I think this video is about reincarnation.Nice song though.

  • DAWSON'S CREEK

  • i put the thumbs down just to stand out. :P love the song

  • This is the strangest video.

  • @shmoopywoopy maybe she just wanted to play dress up

  • I love this song sooo much, i use to watch dawson's creek when i was 13 . The show got old but this song is still awsome

  • This is the version of the video I actually like the best. There is the other version, that focuses more on the "Paula" who is dancing/singing in the room of clocks ("as time/lifetimes pass"), but this one is artistically better.

  • @shmoopywoopy ? Like music201035 said: why do you say that? The visuals and the lyrics are thematically in-sync: She's singing about how she (women) often lose their husband(s); each of the women she portrays (15th C. Italian Noble, 16th C. Queen Elizabeth I, 18th C. French aristocrat, 19th C. English country-cousin, 1920's flapper post WWI) all follow the themes of the song, losing their male loved-ones to war/attrition. Makes perfect sense. *Listen* to the lyrics again as you watch it...

  • i know people may think its funny that i like ths song cuz of dawsons creek...but i dont care...this was my childhood...and thats all it reminds me of :)

  • im feeling so nostalgic....the 90's...my childhood....things were better man.

  • @MrRoyalPayne I feel 90`s as if they were yesterday, when I was on HSchool.... ufffff, now feeling so old... time goes by so fastly!!

  • @MrRoyalPayne I feel 90`s as if they were yesterday, when I was in HSchool.... ufffff, now feeling so old... time goes by so fastly!!

  • What does the black veil means... does it signify death?

  • @Jennifer55260 Yes, The black veil is placed upon the head of the person who has died.

  • I LOVE this video..the imagery does not match the lyrics but who cares...Some would say that videos are their own "art" as are lyrics and they do not necessarily have to be in sync. For me this video is about memory, life, death, love, and it's beautiful. The lyrics of the song are about Paula Cole's grandfather. He came back from the war and he returned an emotionally changed man (for the worse)...and I think her lyrics indicate that she wants a different life than her grandfather

  • I love her dancing in the beginning(:

  • i fell inlove with the song when i heard it from the trailer of "city of angels" good movie great song!!

  • love love loveee this song always makes me cry....

  • I know that the lyrics and the pictures tell completely different stories, but I love the style and how it's put together in that it repeats the same tragic tale again and again. I see at least seven stories in this song and video, and can't wait to write them and see hoe they develope. How anyone could dislike the theme of the video, however un-related to the song it might be, is beyond me. I think it is put together beautifully and meaningfully and will watch and enjoy it whenever possible. :)

  • @KauKatKay Yikes! I meant, "how" they develope. D: sorry!

  • @KauKatKay (Continuing line of thought from response to shmoopy above): Actually, the lyrics and imagery go hand-in-hand. She's portraying historical women/references (Catherine de Medici, Q.Elizabeth I, et al), in effect "incarnating" from one life to the next, and experiencing the loss many women do when they lose their husbands/lovers to war, death, etc... It goes with the lyrical theme of how women often outlive men (especially historically), and have to continue without them...

  • @tideoftime yes, I agree but alot of people were saying that the video was pointless and didn't go with the song at all, I was trying to support the video. :)

  • @KauKatKay Oh, yes -- I got that. I wasn't saying you weren't -- like I said, I was just continuing the line of thought from a further up response to another I was also addressing; it was a "balancing thing", so to speak: he was negative, you were positive, but both referenced the song "not jibing". I was just addressing both as being incorrect in that particular regard, as the imagery *does* go in-sync with many of the words (and intent) of what she's singing. I should have been clearer...

  • @tideoftime I mean I do get how they relate, but I also realize they're not EXACTLY showing what happened in the song and was supporting the use of theme instead of exactness... yup! :D

  • @music201035 Cos the story has nothing to do with the video, it's just got no relevance to the song

  • Good Song.

  • I Like This Song I Have The Dawsons Greek Soundtrack at Got For Only $50 Fifdy Cents at FYE.

  • I remember hearing this song and seeing the video and thinking to myself that it was one of the most wonderful things I had seen and heard... Then again I was 8 or 9 years old and hated the show that this opened on (sitll hate Dawsons Creek)

  • love love love this song

  • Watching Dawson's Creek right now and had to come search this video... brings back so many good memories.

  • I liked Dawsons Creek so much :) and I love this song <3 :)

  • i <3 this song and i <3 ed dawson's creek.

  • Never watched Dawsons Creek, I always found it one of those "stupid teenage shows" (not a fan of those kind of things), but this song is boss.

  • @RassTheKing THUMBS WAY UP!

  • i love this one!!takes me back to my high school days.. i miss those days..... dawson 's creek was a MUST SEE show during those times... thanks for uploading this one....

  • Dawson's Creek!

  • Ah, the real video at last... now if I can find a copy of the original release (more medieval, less renaissance, and without so much of the flapper scenes). Just think the first one had a better composition :;shrugs::

  • This one's perfect. =)

    just the right speed !

  • @rheenaferrer Yea, what's up with the others?

  • @xXJohnathyXx i think maybe that maybe the other don't want to be copyrighted so that's why they speed it up to prevent them from copyrighted materials or match third party contents
