I don't think modern day 'age of empires' would work really, they would have to make remakes of the older games. About ES stopping...well I read on the interweb that Microsoft stopped financing them so dunno.

Ensemble Studios has be closed by Microsoft. But some ex-workers of Ensemble joined and made Robot Studios, wich is currently incharge of AoE3, altough they really dont pay that much of attention. still that "cassador" typo. Its Caçador!!! and Henry the Navigator does not look like that, id say its the exact opposite.
