FYI, this song is the inspiration for an Irish pub in Tampa, Florida, named "Four Green Fields". It is the only bar in the US with a thatched roof and has hosted many famous Irish people and bands and even hurling teams.
i cant go by kathleen largey but this a good version i stand up and salute the brave volunteers of the belfast brigade oglaigh na- h eireann when i here this song god bless you
I grew up with Tommy Makem and this song, and that version will always be it for me. That being said, Mr Roebuck does a brilliant job of invoking Mr. Makem's passion into his version of 'Four Green Fields'.
beautiful voice, great arrangement. My visits to Ireland are by far the most wonderful and spiritual days of my life. This song really tells the story of bravery and love.
Hey just thought i'd say this song goes deeper than bravey and love. If you really take note of the lyrics its quite bitter. Excellent all the same though =D
Great version !
Well done .

I think this version of the song is the best. Even better than Makem's original.
