Japan wasn't involed in the Vietnam War....The North Koreans were getting weaponary and some pilots (very few) From Russia and Russia was training Vietmanese Pilots..Majority of Ground Troops were vietmanese conscripts....The NVA had some great pilots and planes available and did shoot down a fair amount of our pilots....China invaded Vietnam in 1979 after a diploamtic brakdown known as the Sino Vietmanese war.

Aww good that is a very important thing to consider because the SAM systems provided by the russians were a large contributor to shot down airplanes, and not necessarily their pilots. One merit I would attribute to that, is that the NVA pilots and their Russian advisers were much more successful than the Koreans haha

@amitnayna01 I think we shot down 4 for every one we lost in the worst times of the war but I couldnt say for the entirety of the war. Just find the amount of aircraft each side used and lost, then do a 4:1 and see how it works. Besides that I could use my Vietnam encyclopedia[fantastic reference] and tell ye later

It's much more complicated than I assumed due to the compilation of Navy, Marine and of course Air force figures regarding kill death and the obvious skewing that occurred back then. I can say overall in the early parts pre-mig21 we achieved a measly 2:1 k/d. Once the Mig 21 came it was more like 1:1, and the air force fell into a horrid 1:3. However after Pres. Johnsons bombing halt dogfight analysis caused it to climb much higher but it's unknown
