fish: Nah, the tax cut was across the board. Don't be confused by absolute numbers. If someone pays 10 grand a year in taxes and gets a 10 percent refund that's a thousand bucks; if they pay 100,000 or (heaven forbid!) a million a year it's 10 grand and a hundred grand respectively.
Subsidizing industry is a liberal policy. Would have thought you'd have creamed yourself over the idea.

I think subsidising industry is a bipartisan fetishc- they're the ones who prime the electroal pump, after all. The point is that the Repubs portray themselves as fiscally responsible while putting the US trillions in debt, running up huge balance of trade deficits, and doing nothing to counteract the huge personal indebetedness carried by Americans. It's called hypocrisy.

Two things: 1) the US's debt is at 3 trillion, which is down from 5 trillion in 2001, 2) "huge personal indebetedness" is not the governments problem. Your inability to manage your money is your fault.
