Hi I have a better idea for filters. I did it for a customer once. you need a 35.5mm to 37 mm filter step up filter ring. It is 5$ or less from ebay. Silve/Black. You can stick it using clear rubber adhesive.
You may also need a cap keeper 2+ 37mm cap + 37mm polarizer.
How do i export the videos from my sd card . I mean i export them to my pc with a card reader but they don't play in computer the are exported as MOD file can i export them to avi tell me please somebody and sorry for my english i don't know it wery vell. ;-)
@gzimixmx if you've got sony vegas or any other program you have to pay for, it should work. I can import the MOD file into vegas platinum and it works. if not, google "MOD format converion" on google
hey! please tell me how long the battery, and what is the price of the new camera? and if the camera quality I am interested in your experience? thanks
Yes children, you can attach a fisheye once you put the step-up threaded ring on the camera. I needed a camera to film skateboard videos and only had the Canon FS100 and was disapointed when i found out it didnt come with a threaded lens. I took a 37mm step-up ring and bonded it directly to the shell of the camera with super-glue. Be very careful, but if dont right you shouldn't have any problems. I now have wide-angel and fish eye lenses for this camera.
There is something wrong with my batteries or the ac power circuitry, my cannon cannot detect the ac power which its connected to, i suspect its the intelligent battery.
I really need a replacement cam fast, any other brands that have the condenser mic input, while i send this to repair. Thanks
Must be some issue with these and the AC Adapters as I had the same problem with mine recently and had to send it away for repairs and they just gave me a new AC Adapter, wonder how long this one will last. Shame as all our other Canon equipment works so well.
I love this camera an I have one me too and what I love more is the opportunity to make 720 per 576 in 16/9 and I love the hole for the external mic and I suggest always never buy a camera if it doesn't have the red hole for the external mic - anyway you must use a condeser mic and I mean a mic with it's own battery eletric - if you use a normal mic it doesn't work .
so, 2.6-96.2mm stands for focal length (2.6 wide, 96.2 tele) 1:2.0 stands for max. aperture. In Canon FS100 max aperture is constant for wide and tele focal length. Threads diameter is a different story. In FS100 there is no threads so if you want to use filters or lenses you need to fix conversion ring with (M)ale threads 34mm ...size of (F)emale threads is up to you. I use ring M34F37mm to avoid vignetting.
Hi..I've just got this camera and think your idea is great...problem is I can't seem to find anywhere to buy this filter kit :-(( I live in Spain but I've searched Ebay and Amazon UK, and googled, but nothing. Any chance of sending me one if I pay the postage :-)) cheers Gerry
You just need to buy conversion ring 34mm to 37mm and glue it porperly. After you can use it with filters or e.x. wide angle lenses... I coudln't find this Sunpack Platinium in Europe.
Have this consecuences improving the video quality or is only a protection-matter? I'm checking for a filter with which i can forget the light-vertical lines, and for other things.
I'm sorry of my bad english. I stopped studying it 4 years ago...
so I need a step down ring ( I saw them at Best Buy) and a Fisheye lens. Can you tell me which brand Fisheye lens works best and about how much it costs. Thanks. I want to buy the right one the first time. Please help.
I was able to attach a fisheye by just super gluing a 38mm-37mm step down ring to the front. It works great for me. no movement, and I can put any sized 37mm lens on their now!
Thanks very much! Just got an FS-100 and wondered about lens protection. Googled on Canon FS-100 and filters and/or polarizer and up popped your video. Many thanks!
Great idea. I just got the camera today and now I'm paranoid I'm going to get something on the lens so I will have to pick one of those up!!! Thanks :)
Thanks for the infor. I bought one at Frys electronic in San Diego I went a step futher and bought a 37mm/46mm step-up ring to put my Tiffen Polarizer filter on. Then I got a 46mm/55mm step-up ring and attached a rubber sun hood. You have to zoom in just a little so you won't get the edges of the hood. It works great and now I can attach any fiters in 46mm or 55mm. You made my Canon FS100 very happy DuncanVids so thanks again.

Thanks so much for posting this vid man!!!
I didn't even think about doing this!
Now I feel a lot safer working with my camera.
I used a "Hama silver edition UV 390 (0-haze) filter diameter 37mm.
Really happy about it now.
I only paid 16€ for it at Mediamarkt (Hasselt).
I'm from Belgium b.t.w.

about that lense threds thing.
with out "lense threds" you cant put on a fisheye camra?
dSrKu8m 3 years ago
the threads allow you to "screw" a lens onto the camera,
most cameras actually DONT have them,
but jvc cameras do if you want a fisheye

Protects the camera #1 and filters light so in this case a Skylight filter will show the contrast between clouds and sky better.

can you use fish eye on this camera?
bmx3611 3 years ago
Annoying - no thread (no wonder I couldn't find that special symbol and number on the FS100 lens).
Got some KOOD 37-58 mm filter adapters - to get extra use from Canon SLR filters on my HF100 and FS100 (just guessed they'd be the same fit).
HF100 is fine - but I was double annoyed with the FS100 - different size and not even a thread.

so after u filter fix it a fisheye will fit?

does it have threads on both ends of the filter to attach a lens on the filter??
BDonElitist 3 years ago 2
Yes it does. I just have tape holding the filter to the camera so it would not support much weight.
