  • @Dallas70

Why leave it out?, its one of the best lines.

  • What is that mean "Not without some answer?"

  • any 1 know exactly what end of season it is??

  • at 1:30 when he's falling and the picture stops then continues with him falling was that edited as well ?

  • Right on J.R.

You got what you deserved Nicholas Pearce...

    did she shoot J.R?

  • Nicholas Pierce was a lowlife scumbag!!!

  • @WCD73 i didn't like him either but i did later liked him in his own series. pearce was an evil guy but sue ellen & lots of girls had a fling w/ him.

  • @d4seasons

Tequilla and Bonetti was the name of the show where Jack Scalia played a police detective with a dog.

  • @WCD73 i think it was called "LAVAROUS MAN" on WWOR-TV in NY. thanks for writing. it's always good to talk to a DALLAS fan.****

  • @d4seasons

You're welcome,I wish they would release the Dallas movie, hopefully John Travolta will play JR!!

  • @WCD73 DALLAS will be very hard to top because it was so highly touted. it's like any other remakes. not many had succedded.****

  • Dallas was the best soap ever made!!!! Where did all the writters in Hollywood go for Christsakes????Nothing but Cops, reality shows and bullshit.Network television is officially fucking dead!!!!!!

  • Why on earth did JR go heading for the window? In typcial JR style it wasn't him that fell out of it.The next season opener is a classic when Sue Ellen says ''you mean that bastard is still alive''

  • The beginning looked ok, but then it got really hokey..

How the fuck does a guy fall off the edge??? Even though it was obvious the camera was put there for that reason. Really shit directing.

  • Dallas collapsed when Pam awoke... season 9 plots were stunning (a fake Jock, the loss of the company, etc.) but so improbables: by a merry coincidence, Jock and his fake shared the same wounds, same height etc.... Jock told his whole life to that men, who remembered every detail... And did the writters know the characters?? Sue ellen hardly gave a damn about Pam's crash (she never went to the hospital!) of for Nicholas death! How could Cliff accept Pam's decision when he found her?? etc.

  • In true dramatic style, they would have to fight their way to the balcony, where someone is either dangling or falls.

  • My favorite part of this cliffhanger is the "fake" freeze on Pearce's body, as if the identity of the falling man would be the unresolved issue. That kind of outside-the-box thinking was rare during the show's later years.

Where does Pearce get off accusing JR of being a "sorry excuse for a man"??? His own father is a former mafioso!

  • It seems to be law that in a long period in the soap operas that some character is revealed as Mafia contacts especially when the writers don´t have a better idea.

  • You're right. It's a typical plot device when the well of inspiration is runnning dry.

  • @jksonny Ironically, that "fake freeze" never ocurred on the British airing. The BBC took it out.

  • @woutch Strange. That was the best part.

  • three shots and J.R. won't die...this is Dallas lol! Anyway great Sue Ellen in this scene

  • @SimonTube71 the gun didn't even sound real. no one got arrested after this.

  • In order to save DALLAS after the dream sequence they needed to do something drastic; how about....

Sue Ellen falls in love with another woman and discovers she is a lesbian after all.

Miss Ellie shoots and kills an intruder at Southfork and goes to prison for murder.

John Ross and Christopher are both killed in a fire at Southfork leaving Bobby and JR desolate and inconsolable; meanwhile Ewing Oil goes to ruins.

Bobby eventually marries Phyllis and at the wedding ceremony Pam arrives!!!

  • After this episode, the rest of the show went downhill fast. Sue Ellen had really nothing to do in the next season, which is why she left. She rarely interacted with the Ewings after this. JR married Cally, which really ruined the show. JR and Sue Ellen had better chemistry.

  • The producers of Dallas foolishly thought this awful music score by John Parker was actually gold, when it served to further cheapen the show, post-Bobby in the shower. They used John Parker often and in every season finale, in the last 5 seasons. The score itself is a ratings destroyer.

  • Hey how come you removed your comment?

I thought the score was fantastic! Just my opinion.

  • I just undeleted it. Initially, it appeared as though the comment went in the general section, so I was confused and removed it. I like your suggestion for that cliffhanger. The music score in general isn't so bad, I just liked the more traditional music, better. Thanks for responding.

    -Ed

  • @edwinnnn4 I know, the music became all horns and saxaphones. It was tuneless nonsense mostly from Season 9 onward.

  • This was truly the last great Dallas cliffhanger but...

...wouldn't it have been a wham bam shocker if...after we see the body going over the balcony and falling, they cut back to the apartment with a close-up on Sue Ellen and then....

Nicholas Pearce turns around to face her!!!!!!!

JR could have landed in a pool or a window-washing cradle hanging below or something (I know that sounds crazy but this is Dallas)

That could have been even better than Who Shot JR?

  • I do like that ending you propose, but the resolution does pose a problem: How could J.R. survive without a conrny thing like landing in a garbage truck or something.

  • A con man like JR always comes out on the winning side (as long as there's someone available to fuck over).

  • JR could fall in a pile of shit and come out smelling like a rose!!

  • I stopped watching by then, the first 5 years or so were good. THEN they started competeing with DIE NASTY. I truly hated DIE NASTY it was pure trash and hell they couldn't even get it right if the homo was a homo.

  • Don't worry we've got it.

  • @crassyfrake 50 Cent? A nobody crap product and his manager that uses getting shot fiction as a marketing ploy? Someone's selling. Don't interfere with the mighty Dallas please.

  • YES,JAldridge86 . I noticed that as well!

  • Is that the same exterior as Alexis' condominium on Dynasty?

  • is that same skysraper from DYNASTY(Alexis's penthouse)

    I THINK IT IS

i liked much more alexis's interior

  • Notice Sue Ellen's line is cut off after "Where is my son....?", the entire line is "Where is my son, you BASTARD?" What network edited it out?

  • Yeah I noticed the same thing, on the Return to Southfork, the showed this scene and she does indeed say "Where is my son, you BASTARD?". Strange how the line disappeard.

  • I edited it myself!!

  • J. R. Ewing is a survivor. Three bullits will

do no harm. Before he won the battle with the son of a mafia boss !

  • @DALLAS70 Is it on CBS?

  • Comment removed

  • Splat!!! Jack Scalia played a slimy bastard really well.he was also in Red Eye with Rachel McAdams,he was Homeland Security Director Charles Keats.his wife played Tracey, the pool hustler who turned out to be Carter Mackay's daughter, who also had a short fling with Bobby during season 11.she returned later for her brother,Tommy's funeral.

  • "Call off your gigolo, honey"

    Take that Pierce, haha!

  • looks like jr would learn to wear a bullet proof vest

  • This is NOT the last of Nicholas we see(in the remainder of the series)!!!, I dont want to give it away, but its a VERY nice suprise!

  • She is reporting the murder because she is a GOOD PERSON, and announcing her name right away gives it extra dramatic tension, since this after all, Dallas.

  • ... HOW MANY times did JR get shot?

  • BBQJUST4U: Hi. If you were paying attention to the show instead of getting drunk out of your gourd you would know..Imbecile.

    God Bless You & Yours:)

    thanks for great video:)

  • I can assure you, kind sir, that I was not in fact drunk out of my gourd when I watched this clip.

I was not referring to the amount of times he was shot in this instance, because he was quite clearly shot thrice. I was in fact referring to the instances in which he was shot throughout the series. I am aware of two instances - here and the imfamous "Who Shot JR?" cliffhanger.

You sir, were not justified in calling me an imbecile. Oh well, can't help having silly people in the world.

  • Jr was shot by an old enemy of Jock's in the Dove Hunt episode of season 2. He was shot by Kristen, by B.D. Calhoun, by Sue Ellen, and by Carter MacKay's crazy assistant in the Last T.V. movie. I think that's it.

  • Ah, thank you. It's been years since I've seen Dallas.

  • @truelove1330 Shortly after Bobby was shot, Edgar Randolph took a shot at JR and missed. I don't know if we are counting misses.

  • "I'd like to repirt a double murder. This is Sue Ellen Ewing".

    What is that gonna achieve??

Thank god JR survived and dropped those silly charges!

  • is that same skysraper from DYNASTY(Alexis's penthouse)

  • Debra Shelton was the hottest chick on Dallas ....she played Mandy Winger

  • You mean the Winger Tramp?

  • nobody was hotter that pam in the first couple of seasons. check out her playboy spread from right before she started the show.

  • You should see her now! She guest-starred on NIP/TUCK with Donna Mills and Joan Van Ark. She has BALLOONED.

  • Are u kidding me? She was in Ireland on a chat show couple of months ago and she looks better than ever!!

  • Linda grey is still very nice looking compared to Victoria Principal she was nice looking then but she ugly now

  • Linda Gray is still beautiful even now and she's in her mid 50s

  • she's 67 now.

  • linda gray is so beautiful! great actress!

  • yes she does look pretty damn fine in this scene!

  • Did Sue Ellen ever get charged for shooting JR? and the death of that other guy who falls out of the window?

  • One of the best cliffhangers ever

  • Sue Ellen kicks ASS!!!! I never bothered to watch "Dallas" again after Sue Ellen and Pamela left. I never even knew it made it as far as the 90s till I learned how to use the Internet, LOL!

  • Lovin the chin dimple.

  • I am glad it was the last of Nicholas Pierce that we would ever see.

  • Yep homeric9 totaly agree :-)

  • Whenever I see this cliffhanger, I always remember the pause of Nicholas Pearce falling. Was that just a little gag by the producers to fool the viewer into thinking who was the one falling and the season ends there. I always thought that was funny.

  • That is weird

  • Sue Ellen is so beautiful.she ROCKS!!

  • one of the best cliffhangers of dallas!! you go sue ellen:)

  • The last good cliffhanger of Dallas! Also, Ray Krebbs and Jenna left, more blows started by the dream season. Some didn't like Pearce, though. That's the closest to murder as JR got.

  • I noticed the same thing! That is Alexis' building from Dynasty!! Good eye!

  • This time Sue Ellen DID shoot J.R. First Kristen, now her. Even anybody else want a take a shot?

  • Linda Gray is so amazing in it!

  • This buildings exterior looks EXACTLY like the building used for Alexis' penthouse on Dynasty!
