BTW... I remember seeing a Thomas Scene from "STS" during a PBS Promo or something, right after one of Lambchop's episodes was over (including a scene from the "Lambchop" episode I saw as well) when I was at Grandma and Grandpa's House up North between Hurley and Ashland years ago back when they lived there. And therefore, it was stuck in my head after I woke up today (it still is). Does anyone have that Promo to upload?!

Storybook Classics was a TV series made by Rabbit Ears Productions, now called Rabbit Ears Entertainment where famous celebrities like Robin Williams, Meg Ryan, Danny Glover, Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep all narrated famous children's stories like Pecos Bill, Goldilocks, How the Camel Got His Hump, Paul Bunyan and many more. To be honest though, I don't remember it airing on PBS, even though I have heard of this series before.

Golden Age in PBS kid programming

This probably was the end. I mean THE end. By 1996, the kids shows were starting to go downhill, including the series /Arthur/ and many others. The Golden Age really was defined by the 70s into the early 90s, with the 80s as the peak. Again, in my other posts, I was lucky to see the end of PBS when it became to turn to their dark side. I didn't even know that /Reading Rainbow/ was still in production till a few years ago since many member stations dumped it, in favor of other crappy shows.

I don't get the very generic cartoons they have on now - too bad I was too young to get a chance to see /3-2-1 Contact/ on the first run - that seemed to be a good show. Vaguely remembered /Square One/, but the crap they got on the afternoons is something else. PBS isn't getting fed money like they used to, and they are cutting budgets like the corporate networks. AND that IS the problem! I can't stand 30 sec commercials on a PBS show when its supposed to be 10 thoughtful words to public TV...

i watched all of these shows when i wuz little, except i don't remember ghostwriter or storybook classics at all. I vaguely remember carmen sandiego and bill nye. I also don't remember lamb chop, but i watched charlie horde music pizza, the spinoff a lot. Everything else i remember really well though.
