News/political pundits/editors get satirized by a comedian on a comedy show and then, in turn, show clips of the comedian satirizing their words or actions whilst showing clips of them on the act, this to reply or retort, often in a pathetic manner, to defend themselves personally, their personal opinions, their network, the party they support, etc.
This is ridiculous and unheard of in Europe. Commentating and debating are so much more a game over there, a past-time, entertainment.

Ok... Stewart is a self-professed news clown who often has some insightful criticisms, but is there to make people laugh. O'Reilly pretends to be legitimate analyst and pundit. News/political pundits/editors get satirized by a comedian on a comedy show and then, in turn, show clips of the comedian satirizing their words or actions whilst showing clips of them on the act, this to reply or retort, often in a pathetic manner, to defend themselves personally, their personal opinions, their network, the party they support, etc.
This is ridiculous and unheard of in Europe. Commentating and debating are so much more a game over there, a past-time, entertainment.

Look for John Stewart's C-Span interview from 2004. He politely suggests that Bill O'Reilly is pathologically egotistical.
In other words, O'Reilly flies into a rage whenever anyone stands up to him or suggests he's wrong. Other than the fact you can't disagree with him to his face, he is actually fairly reasonable in his views. (esp. compared to Beck)

I count myself on the political left, even though I am pro-life, and the liveliest conversations I have are with those on the right.
