  • cadence..way too fast on your wheels, your left guard was not pressed tothe rest of the colors..present colors is a 4 count movement..guards were off..alignment is bad..arent you supposed to be ''sanwiched' together? other than that, it was decent.

  • lol "Keep in mind that we're Army"

  • nice, not bad

  • WE ARE ARMY not Air Force... Change the sound track.. LOL Nice work not bad.. HOOAH

  • gay ass fucking music

  • That was good for army

just joking i respect all branches

but support Air Force more :D

    but still go army

  • crap im goin to have to do that and im the commander of our group :(

  • ok, one. you DO NOT sling arms in colour guard. Second, when you do colour guard, the flag should already be unrolled. Third, your stepping is high. youmay be fine now, but wait til one of you puts it down too fast and breaks step. its not fun, and your commander should have your ass for it.

  • @gamer209 first...they should have the flags covered because its part of the sequence.if you were in JROTC you would no that and when they UNCASE the colors they sling arms. no wat you doin before you run your mouth. and theyre stepping is fine. doubt you could do better.

  • @gamer209 shut the fuck up u have no clue what your talking about

  • @gamer209

    1. sling arms is the VERY FIRST command for uncasing/ casing the colors.

    2. Their commander would get on their asses for NOT having high knees.

  • You guys weren't sharp enough in your movements and lift your knees up too high when you march. I was in JROTC so I know a thing or two.

  • when you do sling arms your soposted to put the rifel in the elbow

  • @VampRobin

    hey vamp

not all schools have the same sling arms because there is not a written regulation for sling arms

it is up to the commander or instructor

  • @cheng2012 yes there is its call fm3-21.5 its the army Drill & Ceremonies book

  • @VampRobin

yes there is a fm3-21.5 but

go find me pictures of a regulation sling arms

    you wont

    good luck

  • WHY DO I ALWAYS SEE THIS! Military manuals never say to speed up the cadence when performing wheels! If you keep the cadence the same for the whole performance then you will get a better score.

  • wow now thats syncrization

  • im a color guard commander at my school. you guys did pretty good overall-the only thing that i really noticed was the alignment. good job tho

  • i am in the color guard for civil air patrol the civil air patrol color gaurd is just like the official air force.

  • you are retarted. it is similar to the air force but quite it. its more like a bunch of wannabes. like the sea cadets through the navy. and by the way i am a service member, united stated navy corpsman. hospital corpsman third class 8404 fleet marine force with ohsu det d camp pendleton. in plain English combat medic for the marines,

  • do you even know what civil air patrol is? CAP is like i said just like the air force but for kids who are too young to join. we do rescue missions. we can get a pilots licience. we can stay at encampment for 2 weeks at a us army or air force base. the chain of command is just like the air force. we take the same classes and physical education tests. really the only diffence is that we only meet once a week.

  • i am a color guard commnder at greenwood high school sc i saw alot of mess up some not so good some bad> first when presenting top arm should be parrallel with ground flags shouldbe straight both flags looked down feel for the hole not look down and pivot person for the wheels/turns stay in same spot

  • I suggest practcing your alignment a little better, march time march or left wheel a little slower, and try to get your riflemens to do left and right shoulder, it looks bad when there both left or right shoulders

  • Well overall it was pretty sharp umm try to when ur doin the right and left turns make the person the tea mis guiding wait a little longer to turn and turn with u instead of ahead of you... also try keeping ur alignment a little better it can use some workk but besides that really really good

  • the girl swinging her arms is bothering me. i hate it when im the american flag and people swing their arms, its distracting. plus in color gaurd you only march waste down

  • One thing that the comp color guard that i am on does it the sniff method...it is perfectly legal and it makes everything look sharp...

  • uhm wen ur marching make sure the flags r vertically straight. u guys ddnt do so bad =D CA-781!

  • afjrotc rocks this other crappy bullshit

  • Hoorah you guys did pretty good but check out "SMA Male Color Guard" trio is the person its done by.

    Army JROTC Sarasota Military Academy.

  • hoorah is marines only

  • SOMETIMES THATS TRUE BUT IF ITS DIRRECTED TO SO ONE YOU CANT REALLY SAY HOOAH YOU WOULD SAY HOORAH oops sorry for caps

  • @tyler114050 umm marines is OORAH air force hoorah and i thnk army is hooah. I am positive on the marines and air force but not army.

  • Good job

but im in the afjrotc somethings are different then what we do

  • actually, afjrotc colorgaurd is extremely vague, thus they are resorted to using texts from the army manual

  • actually every branch is based of the armys drill wanna know y because they were created first and every military branch has change of some stuff and made it its own

  • when you go down to uncase colors youre supposed to hold the flag as you would a guidon at present guidon

but your marching was really sharp

  • thats to bad that cane bay is goina have to win this year sorry guitarperson123.

  • When unrolling the Flags american Flag Was a Fraction off Of other.

    Sinagua High JROTC

  • in there defence its in regulation to hold the colors in an upright position in either a flag holder (cup) or handheld. it does not state the rules on wether u should hold the cup or keep ur arm at ur side.... C/Cpt. Ritter OB NJ-20002 AFJROTC Director of D&C/ Honor Guard Commander

  • it looks like at 0:38 you are off step just saying im in the Ashley ridge high school drill team i won the colotin county 1st place fancy solo thing

  • no they arent off step..they r doing a wheel. from color guard commander 1st place color guard in maryland

  • they should still be on step during the wheel. I dont know how you got first place if you ignore the most basic principle of any drill which is staying on step

  • okay just brag okay what branch jrotc

  • oh oliver you silly trout bellied sad excuse for a soul, if we wanted advice for tradition why would we look towards the UK for help?

  • yeah i got a little advice for ya. well I'm in the army reserves now and I was in AFJROTC so my advice to you is when you uncase the colors don't bring the flags out of the holsters, and slow down on the mark time and lower it a little the right guard looks like shes about to fall.

  • THIS FUCKING RETARDED!!!!!!!

you have canabalised TRADITION!! left behind after the war of independence, and made it in to a fucking stupid competition for school kids!!!

if you want real traditional drills and such like, look for BRITISH army, and there drills

  • o im sorry, i was wondering y it looked funny. im in njrotc and i fukin hate the army... again im sorry

  • The uncasing was kind of sloppy, and the CG commander should've sounded off lourder, flags off allignment. In MY OWN opinion, too quick for CG D&C

  • its present colors, not arms... at parade rest u grab the cup.... u call "ready cut" after carry, present, & order ... u dont swing ur arms ethier.... when u call "eyes" the american flag is 2 never turn his/her head thts a no no ....

  • That's navy drill...this is an Army meet

  • beginning the flag alignment needs work

at 1:29 the american flag is always above unit/state/whichever flag when uncasing

at 2:18 the guards need to stay on time with

    each other

spearhead position is always a must

uhm "cuts" or however you call them is also a big issue

not to be too mean or anything but the cg commander should sound off way louder

at 3:52 the legs need to be the same height and angle

american flag needs to be straight

    other than that its good

  • i was a color guard

  • if you sweet you shouldn't have to look at the cup when you put the flag in the cup(or maybe it was just me!?!?) hey but the trick to doing colorguard with another team on the other-side of the field is for the commander to be very loud so that you make the other team follow your commands instead of there own commander(s) (sgt. simmons- omega psi phi...shout out 2 all the ques!!!)

  • I command an Army color guard and we're nationally ranked as #4 so I can give you my perspective. Color guard judges love the snappy stuff. Guards need alot more snap and pop in their sling arms and you and the other flag need some more sharpness in your case and uncase. Your wheels are at a good count but you have the tendency to stomp your feet which causes for loss of sharpness. The commands need to be called with more inflection as well. Dress also needs work. Hope I could help & good luck

  • idk about army regs. but AFJROTC regulation says right(left) weels should be 8 count. uh befor you guys uncased colors the flags wernt lined up, idont know what one was 2 far foward or back. with your parade rest your state flag need 2 come foward. so you just have to tell them to extend there arm.. becides that uh.. you just need 2 work on your comand voice

  • We have to do that in our drill competitions too, but we adjust to Army, and we're Air Force.

  • then we had another comp where they claimed we didnt do regulation when we did what it said in the manual.

  • Yeah. Sometimes things are really whack.

  • Ya Same here. i'm from Coventry High School, which is an Air Force JROTC School. we won the Eastern Division Air Force Nationals in 2008. during our season meets we go by the army field manual 3-21.5, but when we go to Air Force Nationals we have to change our routines to Air Force Manual 36-2203 for uniforms, and then when we go to Daytona for the All Service Nationals we go back to the Army Manual.

  • also sling and un sling texas is left hip american is right

  • i was pissed b4.we r an army rotc and we went to comp at an air force rotc skool.they asked us all these questions that were AIR FORCE.none were army

  • This is sooo cool. I want to learn this in my JROTC but our's is informal and our commander's boyfriend is always the one to teach us things:(

  • umm a turn is a wheel in place. think about that marine. this army

  • well heres little detail., when you do your wheels, its only supposed to Be 4 Steps, it says so in the regulation manual. your Sling arms is wrong you stick out your arm when you grab the rifle where as your Rite hand should go under the rifle and u should rest the rifle on your hand just holding the slide. like someone said before your marchtime march nd forward march are at different speeds, other than that, HOOAh,, Clipper battalionAlpha Company. HOOAH

  • umm just to make a comment

it dont have to be 4 steps

    in our regulation

    it is 12 steps

  • Yeah dude, we are an Army JROTC, not whatever branch you are. The manuel says nothing about 4 steps... least wise not that i have found.

  • Here's what I noticed. When you were at mark-time march after the wheels, you guys were going way too fast. When you are marching with flags, you say "colors" instead of "arms". Your commands were barely audible. I think that was the video, though, but I'm not sure. I think griff323 caught the rest. Other than that...not bad.

  • order colors implies that you are lowering the flags, order arms is the proper command after present arms.

  • I know that.(I command the LET1 team and we got 5th place out of 14 at our very first competition so don't act like I don't know what I'm doing) Thats not what I was saying. Where I go to school, one uses the commands of "order colors," "present colors", "carry colors" with flags. We use "arms" with a rifle squad or if there are no flags.

  • yeah im joining color guard as private of delta company

  • very good job

  • I'm a Cadet soon to be Seargeant of Company Alpha Buffalo Battalion at US Army JROTC Manteca High School and I just have something to say that our all good but have some slight mistakes.

  • You go to MHS? I go there im one of the S-4's im in Bravo company.

  • Yes I go to MHS. I'm the S-4 of the Manteca High School Army JROTC. I'm in Alpha Company.

    Is your name Lance Cadiz?

  • I go to MHS and I am BNOPs. Whats up Calo/Lance.

  • Just made a new profile :)...still Hughes

  • I'm Air Force and at our Drill Comp at the Eagle Classic at the Dover Air Force Base at Dover,(the Comp we Hosted) Our Color Guard took 2nd place and we took 4th place overall.

  • Ok...well, from what I can tell, your state color bearer's flag is leaning out, while the national is straight. The video is not that good either...your guards look a tad off on their posts, and i'm not too sure, but you guys might be off line. Also, the commands are barely understandable. I know you said Colors Reverse, March, just need to work on that... on the halt, parade rest, one of your guards swooped the rifle down while the other put it down straight. right wheel is off too.

  • lol its counter columns march not reverse march.

  • Not true. Counter column is in platoon formation only! This is color guard!

  • it's colors reverse for army....

  • u guys did good...u should put more authority in ur voice though...

  • good job out there boys and girls im a colorguard commander so i should know slow down on reporting in and out.

  • I'm in a west coast njrotc colorguard. Dayum you guys are in sync. I agree with most people that your mark time was a bit faster than it should. We can't do casing and uncasing clors cause your flags are twice as big as yours.

  • I'm aware that regulations vary in every color guard and some of us do things differently lol...I'm captain of my colorguard...and we do our sequences shoulder-to-shoulder. I have to admit that I'm very impressed by your mark time marching...your knees are very high and thats something the majority of colorguards need to work on. I am also impressed that your rifles were perfectly in sync. Well Done!

  • i loved you guys and im not going to say the same thing that every1 else said because u have already heard it so just DO IT ALREADY LOL but it all is true but keep up the good work hope to see u in daytona if we even go =)

  • looks really good, your marktimming, and half stepping was too fast, but your rifles are fantasitcally nsync with eachother, that must have taken a lot of time. I'v been colorguard commander of my colorguard for 3 years now, so I can really apreceate this colorguard.

  • I'm in the North Central High school batallion and I'm on colorguard. Good job.

  • Don't listen to them! You were really good. Just slow those feet a bit as well as those nerves! Being nervous can affect your overall speed and performance which I'm sure you knew!

  • first of all the Sgm is not a sir, the report in and out was to fast(commander spoke to fast) and the cadence was a bit slow, but during the mark time it really speed up, (thats not right) all threw the sequence should be all the same cadence, some of the timing esp on the guards was a little off, some of the time,if your going to Daytona good luck, oh and we got forth in color guard, not saying that to brag, just my team and I really know what were talking about when it comes to drill.

  • the only thing i can see is that (im airforce so we use the same manual of arms as yall) your halfstep should be the same pace as your quicktime, which should also be a lil slower because colorguard should be methodical and its a lil easier to stay instep that way, btw since we wont be going against yall unless yall go to montgomery (joint service nationals) next year GOOD LUCK!!!! nething else just email me at cspatriot234@yahoo.com
