In 1977 Jimmy Carter signed the "Community Reinvestment Act", which required loans be given to people with low-income and poor credit.

Then in 1995, the Clinton administration, the Democrats added new laws that forced banks to issue $1 trillion in sub-prime loans.

In 2005 John McCain co-sponsored a bill to stop these practices and provide more regulation to Fannie Mae and the Democrats BLOCKED it!

Nancy Pelosi received more than $32,000 in campaign contributions from these crooks!

Carter Administration:

he was associate director for economics and government in the Office of Management and Budget and assistant director of the White House Domestic Policy Staff from 1977 to 1979.

Fannie Mae: Vice Chairman from 1991 to 1996.

Clinton Administration: he was the Director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, where he served until 1998.

On December 21, 2004 Raines accepted what he called early retirement from his position as CEO while U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigators continued to investigate corruption.

During her 6 year period with Fannie Mae she "earned" more than $26 million!

Pelosi is a smart person who keeps the welfare of the American people in mind. If she thinks the bill is bad, it probably is. However, I don't think Pelosi was to blame for the failure of the bill. I think the bill itself was the cause. If there are so many glaring problems with a bill that throws around $700 billion, would you want it to go through? Even the majority of Republicans voted against it. While I agree that something must be done as soon as possible, a better bill can be written.
