Yes the punches are pulled (for the most part) but being slammed and slapped and most of the moves are REAL. But you are taught how to TAKE them and have to Give them without major damage being done.

Do them incorrectly and you WILL be injured.  Steve Austin had his neck broken from a botched pile driver.
