Buy a borla stinger catback..my brother has the same car..he bought the bassani x pipe with the option of swappin out the cats so easily..its really loud without cats but with the cats I was surprised on the sound..has a way better tone and sounds awesome..and its still real loud
@johnnyrocketcbr929 Same here. I have a Mystichrome (no need to put the year as they only made them in 2004) with a Whipple. There is one manufacturer I found, but it requires cutting, drilling, tapping at the firewall. Is this what you had to do?
its a matter of opinion and how the car is setup i like both the whipple and kenne bell but i think the kenne bell has a better sound and is better put together
the best thing about a whipple is that there cooler then the kb but they do make more power but u cant run them over and over u gadda let them cool or apply ice lol
im not much on fords, but i will say this its a nice car, and seems fast. ive got a 468 with a d1sc making 12psi boost. and it never hooks just blows the tires off at any speed
People choose hardtops because when you have a conv. they have to beef up the car to support it. . . adding additional weight. There great for cruising, but not too practical for high performing vechiles. Espically if your going to hit a road coarse.
Ah thanks man. And idk, I would think that those who bought verts would buy them bc thats what they wanted lol. I just recently made the decision to put it up for sale just because I dont really like the color combo of the car. Some other reasons I want a hardtop: hardtops have better, more predictable handling due to a stiffer chassis, I love the look of the hardtop, and I would feel ALOT safer knowing theres alot more solid material between my head and the pavement in the event of a rollover
sick car, sick color, love the mods too...especially the 2000 Cobra R suspension setup...cant wait till i can afford one...hopefully i can find one with low mileage too
You're right... and I never changed my video description. it was actually more like 520 or so. I didn't see how my old dyno graph peaked. See my new vid though, I'm over 600 at the wheels now @ 19psi.
I actually started to consider selling it today. It's an entirely different car (power wise) than what you see here. It's over 600rwhp now. I threw about another $3k into it. If I were to sell it, I would take no less than $35-$36k for it.
I love the Mystichrome Cobras. My old man just passed away and left me his black 03 Vert but I think Im going to trade it in for a mystichrome hardtop...
And why are your torque numbers so low? Or is that typical for the Whipples?
610/570 ya gotta love that :) And thanks man. Yea it's a bittersweet situation. Ive decided not to sell it though. Too much history in that car... I learned to drive stick on it when it was stock :)
yo bro! nice fuckin ride man. ive always loved cobras. and that mystic crome. WOW! nice sound. in ur opinion. since im new to all this stang stuff, what would be the loudest exhaust for my 00mustang gt? thank bro!
yah and plus it will be my first cobra im going to by and my first major project i have done but im taking it small steps at a time the last part im going to learn it where alot of it matter which is the engine. And i know i will feel a great deal of satisfaction knowing the reason my cobra sounds mean is because i modded it to be that way.
well a friend of mine told me lowering the car makes it look alot better because he said they are high stock so im going with what he said and plus he is teaching me modding mustangs so yah i already know to install new exhaust and midpipe so far and i see you have borla as a exhaust honestly i prefer flowmasters i like the loud exhaust set ups.
I had flowmasters on my 2003 GT and I loved them. Honestly, the Borla exhaust coughs a little too much sometimes for me. But, I like it a lot. Good luck with the work you have ahead of you. You'll be happy when you're done.
well alright but if you bought it without it being as low as it is would have done it yourself because as of now i have limited knowlege of mustang modding so how long you think it would take to lower a cobra?
If I bought the car without any suspension modifications, I probably wouldn't have done any suspension mods. But, the car handles incredibly and it feels extremely tight. Lowering a car is usually just a matter of shorter springs, struts, and shocks. But, I think it's a pretty tough job though. I wouldn't do it without a car lift. I think an experienced person could do the job in a day or two.
The original owner installed 2000 Cobra R springs, shocks, and struts. I think doing that lowered it like an inch or two. I didn't do it myself, but I like the way it looks.
dam dude awesome cobra and bad ass whipple you installed and not bad on how many miles she has under the hood either nice car you plan on posting any racing vids anytime soon.
Thanks! I probably won't post any racing vids until after I finish all the mods I want (60lb injectors, KB Boost-a-pump, MAF, 3.0 pulley for 17psi, etc.). I should be around 580-600rwhp then. Plus, I'll need some street slicks b/c I've got no traction. :-)
I'm actually saving for a 7.5l 427 super cobra jet crate motor for when i do my swap. cant wait to have some power*** this v6 just isnt cutting it and it would cost double they ammount to hook it up with still less of a kick aka hp/torq
yeah i mean I havent had alot of power with the sixer but man i love the body an how it feels when driving.. but once i do the swap I also gotta change transmissions correct? because it never stated it at the place i was gonna buy the crate motor.. and if so since its a 427 super corba jet wich trany would be ideal for it.
Yeah... I don't think the tranny in the V6 models would hold well with a 427. But, honestly, I'm not sure how they differ. I've heard of people blowing the auto transmissions in a new 2006 GT with just a whipple on it. I would ask around on some mustang boards or ask a nearby shop mechanic what they would recommend.
nice exhuast what is it??? ok why would you put a whipple on with stock injectors????????????? and why would put a whipple with stock throttle body?????????????????? thats the dumbest thing ever.
The exhaust is Bassani X Pip to Borla Cat Backs. Read the rest of my video description. I have future plans for upgrading a lot of other things. You can port a stock Eaton and get similar #'s... I know.

well, I like the whipple sound better, it's quiet on the highway, but noisy when you punch it...like you said, it's all opinion.
wignigeater 2 years ago
umm i think your wron kenne bell
97mustangcobra 2 years ago
should of went with Kenne Bell.just my opinion.better supercharger.more power and torque.

Negative the whipple is just as good for like half the price.

the best thing about a whipple is that there cooler then the kb but they do make more power but u cant run them over and over u gadda let them cool or apply ice lol
kobracommader 2 years ago
no, they are almost the same, but the whipple is much easier to set up. mine is making 634rwhp and that's at 17psi
wignigeater 2 years ago
you need mickey thompsons drag radials, have same set up and now i can race from a dig with hardly any spin on the tires.you will love them

And they weigh less, easier to maintain on wear and tear too. IMO, verts look sick, but hardtop is the way to go.

loudest exhaust would be slp loudmouth 1, but it doesn't sound all that good. for a loud exhaust that still sounds good a magnaflow or bassani
knucklehead0202 4 years ago
Agreed. SLP loudmouths are real loud, but they don't sound the greatest.
UFGatorGuy20 4 years ago
What exhaust set up r u runnin'?
FlaBoy13 4 years ago
Bassani Off-road X pipe without cats to Borla Stingers.
UFGatorGuy20 4 years ago
and bassani is the sickest. i think the bestlow sound deep exhaust.
