  • disagree on bradshaw but i think its a toss up with elway and marino and brad...and what is this thing on manning being better he isnt as clutch and his o line gives him the same protection

  • Take the rings out of the comparisons because rings are won by teams not just QBs, hell you can even get a ring with an average QB - if your team is good enough.

A good QB with a strong arm can carry an average team into the playoffs, a weak arm QB dose not have that ability. Joe did not have that ability like Marino or Manning, without that great SF team and system were not even talking about Joe being in the top 10

  • Joe would throw short passes and his guys would take it 60 70 yards to the house, or he would throw deep when Taylor or Rice had the DB beat by a few steps - who can make that completion/ they were wide open.

Marino took the Phins to the playoffs on his ability alone, something you all know Joe would have never been able to do.

  • @MrCjp37

Rings are won by teams? Every damn football game is a team game! You say Marino took the Dolphins to the playoffs with his ability alone?! So you're telling me that Marino threw the ball AND caught it himself? Wow, if you put things in that perspective, Marino is not just a great QB, but a superhuman as well!

  • LISTEN all you guys keep acting like football is an individual sport like boxing or tennis. Like Joe won all the big games, Joe beat this guy in a super bowl Joe beat that guy in a super bowl. WTF r u talking about its a TEAM SPORT!!! yes Joe was great but all the things your talking about are team accomplishments.

When Joe was with KC they lost in the playoffs, they lost not because the other QB was better but because they were just a better team then KC that year

  • Joe had the best players on his team thats why they won. Randy Cross said on Americas Game the 20 greatest super bowl teams of all time, he said that the players knew they had an advantage with Bill Walsh being their coach.

Montana was great but not the best, those players, that coach and that system were a big part of winning those super bowls

  • damn i meant huge not hug..lol

  • Brady over Chad Pennington let's be real... hahahahahhaha lmfao the arguments you see over a commercial.

  • Montana.

  • Young

  • I say Montana, Marino, Brady, Elway, then Bradshaw.

  • Bradshaw isn't even in the top 5... Either is Young.. The first guy had it right.. Favre is the best ever

  • @WarEagle140 Over Elway? Get serious

  • @HipHop226 I am.. look at Elways numbers. They don't even compete with Favre's. The only reason he won 2 super bowls, or any super bowls, is cuz Terrell Davis

  • @WarEagle140 hey now lol elway was a great qb but damn ur right td was the effin man ever wander why he doesnt get compared as one of the best rb's? i know his career was cut short (im a hug life long bronco since 14yr now im 28)but look at his first 4 years in the league 2 supebowls,1 suuperbowl mvp award, rushing title, over 2000yrds rushing in a season(2008 to be exact)only the third player behind dickerson and sanders to do it at the time, and he was the most balanced 5 tool rb ive seen

  • @silvap4p Elway was a great QB but Favre is better. I would put Elway in the top 5 for sure tho. But I agree with you about Davis, he was the reason they won the super bowls so I don't see how people can't say he's one of the best. I still think Bo Jackson, had he played a full career, would have been the best ever. He was by far the best athlete ever, ran a 4.12 at the combine, and never lifted weights and he said football was a "hobby" because he also played in the MLB. He was really good

  • Marino.

  • @q3tsyko71 its called he recognized

  • Not even a mention of Manning? Brady even said Manning was the greatest player period!

  • @HellsLoneAngel it's called humility.

  • @HellsLoneAngel so just because brady said it doesn't make it true

  • The system in SF wasn't a "System" until the mid to late '80s. The niners were absolutely horrible before Montana took over. Most people forget that the 49ers came out of absolutely NOWHERE to win in 1981, they beat Chuck Knoll's Steelers IN Pittsburgh that year and Landry's Cowboys TWICE. No small task. you could add up all the other QBs stats,MVPs,rings, etc. But if Montana had the slightest glimmer of hope, even down 17pts w/ 9:00 left, start praying. He proved it at Notre Dame, in SF..unreal!

  • @SteelersFan1734 u still dont get it...TB is way more consistent then Joe Montana ever was...plus he plays against much harder teams....he doesnt have stability at the offense as of late and he is always putting up huge numbers to outscore because he doesnt have the defense to back it up...for a guy coming back from an injury he did well...in the top five...and each year he gets better and better with less and less...

  • @racerjsf To be truthful, alot of QB's were more consistant than Montana. Elway was consistant, Marino was consistant, their numbers prove that. But Montana was like a vampire, unless you drove a steak through his heart, he wasn't dead. You had to kill him because if he had any life left in him, he was going to kill you. Ask Cincy who left :02 and 1 play(dead), or Philly who sack him 8 times& knocked him down just as many( 4 TDs in 4th QTR) His greatness showed when the chips were down(SF&ND)

  • @racerjsf TB is great, Montana was great, but Elway, Bradshaw, Marino, Manning and Young were/are better. Joe was just on a great team with great coaches and system, TB plays in a great system also and has all the time in the world to find receivers, any QB with time will find an open guy. The other guys could will you to win with their ability whether being a strong arm or running ability.

  • @MrCjp37 Are you saying that Montana was a system qb? You already mentioned he played in KC. KC did not run the west coast offense when Joe played there, and still they went to the AFC title game. System QB? I think not. And yes football is a team sport but QB play is important. Manning threw a pick 6 to lose the Superbowl on the Colts last drive against the Saints. Montana lead his team to victory on the last drive against the Bengals. Major difference.

  • @lorenzodemedici1 KC had a good offense and Joe is a top 5 QB of all time, so its not a surprise Kc went to the title game with Joe. Yeah Im saying he benefited from having a great team, coach and system in SF, why did'nt he win it all in KC if hes the best ever like you all think. So Manning makes one mistake and hes not better then Montana? Joe made mistakes also and those were the years that they lost in the playoffs.

  • @MrCjp37 KC had a shit offense, an old Marcus Allen was his main weapon. And yes Montana is better than Manning especially in Superbowls. Montana leads final game winning drives in the Superbowl. Manning throws a pick 6 and costs his team a SB win. And here's another fun fact, Montana has never fumbled or thrown an interception in 4 superbowls, Manning on the other hand has a few interceptions and fumbles in the big game. And Montana played in a tougher era. Fact.

  • @lorenzodemedici1 Chad pennington and Jeff Garcia could have won 4 super bowls with those 49er teams, the system Walsh had was flawless. All his WRs and that system made him look a lot better then he was. If Joe was on the Dolphins back then could he have taken them to the playoffs as many times as Marino in that system Miami had? No, because he cant make all the throws, weak arm. But Elway, Marino, Fouts, and Manning could, because they could make all the throws, its that simple

  • @MrCjp37 Yeah of course you compare a 37 or 38 year old Montana carring a lof ot injuries in his shoulders with a much younger and less injured Manning. Montana didnt win it all in KC as the same reason Jordan didnt win it all in Washington when he played there.

  • @LocoAullador78 Even when Montana was in his prime, he won because he had a lot of Pro Bowlers on offense, and was in a new red hot system the WC offense and probably had the smartest coach ever in Bill Walsh

Joe would only trow deep if Rice or Tylor had a couple steps on their man, most of the time he just threw short and all his weapons made him look good.

Not going to say it again - Joe was a weak armed QB and could'nt hold Elway, Marino or Mannings jock strap

  • @MrCjp37 Who cares about his arm, what matters the most is his head and his intangibles the ones Marino hadnt. A QB capable of throwing long passes but not capable of throwing accurate passes is totally useless. I would like to see Marino and Elway playing in a team like the Chiefs. Yeah a lot of "off weapons": an old Marcus Allen, high q WR's JJ Birden, Willie Davis, TE Hayes and Keith Cash, In his1st season they played the AFC final (Montana played half game due to concussion).

  • @LocoAullador78 listen to you guys "an old Marcus Allen" that dos'nt mean shit how old he is, maybe he was'nt what he used to be, but still was very effective - obviously because he helped the Chiefs to the playoffs and one yr made the championship.

I would of like to see Montanna get the Dolphins to the playoffs on his right arm alone and no running game like Marino did many times, or like Manning did with not very good Colts teams.

Im sorry but Joe is no better then 5 or 6 all time.

  • @MrCjp37 the first two championships he did not have jerry rice and john taylor and the west coast system came up in the 70's by paul brown not bill walsh with the bengels and as we see now you got to be a really good qb by the way montana beat marino in super bowl 19 un like marino he would give the ball to his runningback and in every match he had with elway he outplayed him if arm streight measure a great qb 2 words RYAN LEAF

  • @GiantsKnck Lets take the 2011 Giants, and put A QB like Marino, either Manning bro, Elway, Young, even Jim Kelly or Warren Moon. Put that team with any of those QBs against Joe and the 49ers and Joe would loose every time. If you have a sandlot game and no system to hide the QBs limitations who ya gonna take? a guy that has a strong arm and that is accurate, or just the guy who is accurate, Im taking the strong arm and beat your ass every time.

  • @MrCjp37 first off i'm and eagles fan okay unlike you i have seen qbs all my life all of thoose guys expect seyton and sheli joe beat those guys when he was in kc so there goes your system threoy as for sandlot games i rater have a guy throw me a ball that i can catch than a guy who tries to break my hand off than or over throw me by the way marino and kelly and moon are not know for the accuratly drew bress is not a strong arm qb nether is aaron rodgers

  • @MrCjp37 by the way the giants with marino would lose to the 49ers and joe because marino whould not give bradshaw and jacobs the ball

  • Montana is the absolute best quarterback to ever play the game. Enough talk about who would've done what had they been in his position. They weren't! If everyone's going to argue about whats and ifs, then there's no point of comparing because anything could be a hypothetical!

Also, it irks me soooo much when people put Brady on a Top 5 list KNOWING, WITH PROOF, that Belichick cheated in at least 2 SBs. Yes, it wasn't like Brady who cheated, but he benefited from it.

  • @jimmyphan113 the team still had to operate...throw the football and win games....teams know he "cheated" and they still cant stop him

  • @racerjsf

I understand they stil had to execute, but Belichick knew their plays and formations from cheating, thus, setting his team to better counter the play. Also, do keep in mind they won the first 2 off Vinatieri FGs. Without cheating, Vinatieri's FGs wouldn't even be enough to win. Further proof, SB 43: no cheating, no perfect season.

  • @jimmyphan113 I agree. The NY Giants baseball stole signs in '51 by using a telescope in center field, then went on an amazing run to force a playoff with Brooklyn. But they knew they couldn't risk it come playoff time, the commisioner as well as other major league brass were in attendence (too many eyes). I believe the same reasons applied to the Patriots during the Super Bowl, having already been caught. Suddenly, they struggled to move the ball against a team they should have annialated.

  • @tumonni1040 Not to take anything away from NYG but the Pats were on a role and should have been champions @ 19-0. In light of what we now know, they could reasonably have lost every Super Bowl they played in with just a 3 point margin of winning in each SB game. The Pats had great teams, but they didn't exactly play well in those Super Bowls, barely out playing each opponent. Not one blowout, not one game of dominence, pretty much even except for a few key plays or drives. It's a shame.

  • @tumonni1040

Very true. I remember watching those SBs and thinking it's anyone's game if their opponent made a mistake. Now that we know what the Patriots did, it's clear the outcome would've been different. And yes, they wanted the hardware, regardless if it was going to be tainted.

Also, kudos to your vampire/Montana reference.

  • @jimmyphan113 Of coarse Brady benefitted from it. There's no point in cheating if the players, especially the quarterback, couldn't benefit from it. Coaches don't make plays on the field. And there no point in risking your accomlishments and reputation if the rewards of cheating were insignificant. They knew they had an advantage, and they exploited it. Win now and let the critics argue over whether it was legit, we have the hardware and that's all that matters. WINNING HONESTLY MATTERS MORE!

  • @SteelersFan1734 randy moss wasnt horrible but he was declining...deion branch was useless before returning to the patriots...and yes those tight ends were drafted but after a year they look elite because of tb...plus hes doing this after a recovery season...u cant doubt how good he is...he will be the goat

  • @SteelersFan1734 yes this is true...championships are a team sport however skill wise im taking brady...those receivers u mentioned? they became effective only when brady was using them look at the rest of the recieving corps hes had...sucked when they left and sucked before brady showed...he made them not vice versa...with the exception of welker...he puts up numbers yearly despite the fact that his recievers change alot...last year there wasnt a dominate reciever...just rookie tight ends

  • @SteelersFan1734 yes im not knocking joe...his uniform is on a frame on a wall in my house however joe had a stable receiving core that was elite as well as the fact that he lost his job and played in a slightly different era...bradys close to out performing joe and he has worked with less and isnt close to being done...hes getting better with age...plus his consistency is undeniable

  • Marino has a strong case. He was obviously the best pure passer of all time & slaughtered every record. And he dragged that dolphins team to the playoffs year after year with no real help.. not even from his coaching staff. You can say he never won a superbowl but trent dilfer and brad johnson. :/ Still Montana Beat both Elway & Marino on the biggest stage so it's hard to say.

  • @coolnesss16 You guys keep acting like its a one on one match, its not boxing its not tennis, its a team sport. When the Redskins beat my Dolphins in the super bowl it was'nt realy because Theisman was better the Woodly, its because they were the better TEAM!!! Thats how guys like Dilfer, Johnson, Eli Manning, and weak arms Greise and Montana can win super bowls- cause its a team sport.

  • @MrCjp37 True. I just put it that way for comparisons sake if were going to actually debate about which quarterbacks are better. I personally think you almost have to take superbowl rings which is a team accomplishment out of the eqaution and judge them on ablity alone.

  • @SteelersFan1734 tb has played less games and has put up better stats...next season he will pass him in td thrown and in two seasons yardage while having a better td:int ratio and he isnt close to being done...yea i know stats are for losers but u cant ignore them...

  • @SteelersFan1734 yea because he was never had a season like toms...never had that pressure...and given the chance in his prime would never be able to achieve it.

  • @SteelersFan1734 montana has had his playoff troubles...bradys wil end and he will be on top again

  • Joe's first SB win was SB XVI against the Kenny Anderson-led Bengals. SF 26, Cincinnati 21, January 24, 1982 from the Pontiac Silverdome. And I do believe, hands-down, that Montana was the best QB ever in the SB. Four SB rings (4-0), 68% completion pct (83-122), 11 TD, 0 Int. His 127.8 passer rating in the SB all-time is the best ever for any QB. Hard to argue those stats.

  • For those who think Favre is the greatest consider - Favre had a great period from about November '95-September '98 (tracked his QB rating game by game - he had an 83 cumulative QB rating as of 11/5/95, not so great, especially for a WCO QB). In that period the Pack went 35-7 and were 1-1 in SB's. From Sept '98 thru the end with the Pack in 2007, Favre went back to a fair to good overall rating of 83 and a string of playoff washouts. 17% of one's career being great doesn't make one great overall

  • @giantssmith dumb ass Marino was in a superbowl and it was joes first superbowl win I think it was superbowl 23 google it

  • @kingalex505 You're calling somebody else a dumb ass? Marino and Montana played head to head in SB 19, and it was Montana's 2nd win. SB 23 was San Fran against the Esiason Bengals. I suggest YOU Google before you open your trap about anyone else. At least you got the part of Marino in a SB part right. Way to go tiger!

  • @kingalex505 it was against Marino but it was Joe Montana's sec in 1984 his first was 81 against the Bengals then in 88 again against the Bengals then 89 against the Elway led Broncos aka best qb of all time simply cause the man never chocked on the big stage :)

  • My top ten: Montana, Elway, Marino, Staubach, Brady, Unitas, Young, Favre, Manning, Starr. Honrable mentions: Aikman, Bradshaw, Moon, Tarkenton. I bet I forgot someone. Also the people that think how many superbowls a player won has anything to do with if they are better than another player are idiots! It's a team accomplishment plain and simple. For example: Trent Dilfer won a superbowl and Dan Marino didn't and he is obviously a bum compared to Marino.

  • Comment removed

  • In order to be tha best ever hands down you have to beat tha best

    SUPERBOWLS

    1. Elway

    2. Marino

    3. Anderson

    4. Esiason

Enough said he is tha Greatest!

  • @89baynigga its not Montana against those other QBs as much as you wish it was, sorry to rain on your parade and tell you that football is a team sport, its not boxing or tennis. Many things go into having a great offense and of course QB is that main part, but also its the system and play callimg, the o-line, the backs and WRs n TE. Montana would'nt have been crap without Walsh and that system, besides he always had a great line and WR's

  • think of this. you start a team and can draft any QB ever? yeah i would pick Elway too.

  • montana 55 < Elway 10 super bowl 1990 what's done is done

  • Marino had a SHIT bunch of players around him, miami's D gave up about 25 points a game.

Montana won coz he had lots of good players on his team.

And if you judge QB's on how they perform in the superbowl Ben Rothlesberger is one of the best of all time?

  • @madman25ish Nope, he lost a super bowl, remember? plus he had a horrible qb rating in his first SB.

  • @gtrescgh cough cough the point of the comment is that they have all lost super bowls to where the mighty joe has gone to 4 and never lost.joe montana goes into a Superbowl you are guaranteed a victory.thats why he is the greatest and the others are chokers.some more than others.Elway was a bigger choker than marino in my opinion cuz it seemed like those 1st 3 super bowls he was god awful, but at least he finally grew past that in his latter career.dont get me wrong they are all great.but JOE #1

  • @MrJonesywales Elway chocked.!! His D didn't show up in those Superbowls and he played with a cast that couldn't start on any other NFL team, he carried those Broncos teams of the 80's to the Superbowl. Just ask Matt Millen when preparing for the Broncos the 49ers called the Broncos the Denver Elway's cause that was all they had.

  • Bradshaw??? lmfao, Montana was a great QB but can't pick em. Fuck Brady. He's a whiny little bitch and without a GREAT defense he isn't SHIT and never will be. yeah 3 rings, without that defense it would be 0 rings and very few playoff appearances. He's overrated.

  • @darklordojeda That was the joke... do us all a favor and unstiffen that collar.

  • @darklordojeda Pats had the YOUNGEST defense and went 14-2. just sayin

  • Brett Favre the greatest QB off all time!!!

  • I can't speak about pre-1970, but post-1970 is all Joe Montana. He's 'Joe Cool', Mr. Qb, got the championships, got the stats, best field general you can ask for. And heaven help you if he gets a mad on, he beat the 49ers after they traded him, no way that should've happened... that was ALL personal.

  • Marino was in a Super Bowl but he lost to Joe Montana and the 9ers

  • Montana never got the credit for a strong armed Q.B. why is it I'm the only person who saw him throw a 40 yd. pass as strong, fast, and accurate as any Q.B. ever! maybe because he was so talented he never needed to. As for John Elway with 5 super bowl appearances, not bad! then theres Terry Bradshaw , Bret Farve , and Brady climbing up there ass!

  • Brady and Manning suck, I liked the colts of the past better, Unitas was a great QB, manning is just a system, that's already falling apart, they lost to the Jags this year! Ha! And brady cheats! I wouldn't even put brady or manning in the top 5, or the top 10. Montana is the #! QB of all time, go look at the Nfl 75th Anniversary team, who's on it? Montana is.

  • @JM1980s eh, I agree, Montana was the greatest QB in NFL history. But he also was the product of a system that worked well for him. As does Manning now. The colts can almost put anybody they want out at receiver and Manning will get the ball to them. They succeed because of their offensive scheme and how precise Manning executes it. ..Just as Joe did for the 49ers.

  • @thedrip Yeah, Bill Walsh was the only one who noticed that he had talent, all the other teams passed him by, And if anybody who watched the last episode of the top 100 players in Nfl history, they would know that Joe preferred the West Coast offense over any other, because it wears defenses down, so that he can make that big throw down the field and not be worried about it getting picked, and if it did get picked, he didn't care, he would go out on that field and still be the same person.

  • @thedrip

an old Joe Montana also led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game without the West Coast Offense ....imagine what a young Montana would do....that right there proves Montana was no system QB...

  • Peyton Manning is not Top 5 all time.

And he will NEVER sniff the sweat filled shoes of a Montana or Staubach.

    Please.

  • I can't pick a "greatest of all time" because its too subjective. You would have to have a clear, defined criterion for what makes the best QB, no different than any other position. My 5 greatest (in no particular order) are: Montana, Manning, Unitas, Elway, and Marino. I can't put Favre on my list because his decisions have hurt his teams much more than those that are on the list.

  • As a Chiefs fan, my biased opinion is that Elway was the best. He has more come from behind wins than any QB in NFL history. He got better as the pressure mounted. 47 come from behind wins is not a stat that a so called choke job QB would have.

  • @billybazilly

the comeback wins stat is vastly overrated....Brett Favre is second in comeback wins yet he's choked more so than any QB ever....Elway was great, but he was horrible in those Super Bowls he lost...Elway didn't have much help on offense early in his career, but he did have a top 5 defense led by Steve Atwater

The '89 Broncos team that lost in Super Bowl XXIV to SF had the number 1 rank defense in the league, and also ranked 8th in offense...I wouldn't call that 'no help'...

  • 1. Montana

    2. Unitas

    3. Favre

  • 1a. untias, 1b. montana, 1c. brady, 1d. starbauch, 5. outto grahm. MARINO NEVER WON (OVERRATED), ELWAY NEVER WON WITHOUT TD (CHOKED ON 3 SB)YOUNG AND MANNING SHOULD HAVE WON MORE SUPERBOWLS. BRADSHAW HAD A UNBELIVEABLE TEAM YOU COULD HAVE PUT RYAN LEAF ON THAT TEAM AND STILL WIN. A GREAT QB WIN RINGS AND PLAYS BIG WHEN IT MATTER MOST (PLAYOFFS) NOT SOME COMBACK IN THE REGULAR SEASON NOT ALOT PRESSURE.COMPARED TO A WIN OR GO HOME ENVIROMENT.

  • @misstaestar The argument you make against Bradshaw can also be made against Montana. Do you really think Marino would not have won any Super Bowls if he was in Montana's shoes?

  • @obiwanobiwan13 TRUST ME...being a 49er fan ... NO WAY IN HELL Steve Young is # 8 all-time! He lost the following games:

90 NFC title game (after Montana got hurt)

92 NFC title game @ home to Aikman and Cowgirls

93 NFC title game to Aikman and Cowgirls

97 NFC title game @ home to Favre and f*cking packers

Young was OVERRATED. If Montana doesn't get hurt in 90 NFC title game, we're talking about 5 maybe 7 Super bowls. F*ck Steve Young !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @6forrestgump9

I wouldn't blame Young for the 1990 defeat. Roger Craig fumbled. Maybe for the 92 and 97 games. In 93 Cowboys were just a better team

  • @6forrestgump9 Hey, Steve Young was a great QB, definitely HO...he wasn't Joe, but at least he GOT US THAT FAR, and won us a SB!

    Who did we have after?

-Jef Garcia: LOVE THAT GUY...2 playoff appearances in 5 years with a so-so to decent team, conducted the 2nd-biggest playoff comeback EVER to win one of the Top 10 Playoff Games of the Decade...great scrambler and could throw udner pressure...SHOULD'VE KEPT HIM!

    -Tim Rattay: ...

-Alex Smith: Grow up or get out

    -Shaun Hill: See my point?

  • joe has coolness and humilty. how can he not be the GOAT

  • Great stuff...

  • unitas,montana,favre,marino,elway

  • Top 42 QBs: 1. Montana 2. Elway 3. Favre 4. P. Manning 5. Unitas 6. Brady 7. Staubach 8. Young 9. Graham 10. Aikman 11. Marino 12. Starr 13. 14. Bradshaw 15. Baugh 16. Warner 17. Kelly 18. Stabler 19. Theismann 20. Namath 21. Tarkenton 22. Fouts 23. Moon 24. Van Brocklin 25. Tittle 26. Layne 27. Simms 28. Dawson 29. Plunkett 30. Bledsoe 31. Esiason 32. Waterfield 33. Cunningham 34. McNabb 35. Luckman 36. B. Griese 37. Brees 38. A. Manning 39. K. Anderson 40. D. Williams 41. E. Manning 42. Garcia

  • @obiwanobiwan13 Lmfao at your QB list... hahahaha

  • Joe Montana look that name up in the dictionary it says " GREATEST TO EVER PLAY THE POSITION"

  • tom brady doesnt win superbowls, him and his team does, imagine brady alone vs 11 players, who would win that superbowl....

  • People have this dumb idea that he played on great teams. NO! His greatness made his teammates great!

  • Staubach

  • marino and elway had weak defenses compared to the niners...neither had ronnie lott on their side

  • "Tom Brady Might have something to say about that...."

yeah if he can get the dick out of his mouth

  • Montana HAS to be #1, 4-4 with "The Catch" and the SB version of "The Drive" and he NEVER lost when it was big. Then Favre, Elway, and Manning, Elway's #3, and Favre #2 but Manning could very well swap places with him and become #2. Staubach, Marino, Brady, Young, Aikman, and Unitas round it out, and that's a free-for all, Aikman and Young nearer the bottom, Marino would be FAR higher, but lacking a ring...

  • What's 1 thing Michael Jordan and Joe Montana have in common?

They never choked in the biggest stage of the game...=)...unlike other few *cough Elway *cough Marino *cough Manning/Brady

  • @oneman91 when did Marino choke getting beat by 22 points isnt choking especially when all your team can do is pass which makes it easier on the opposing defense

  • @oneman91 yea but marino never had a running game or a D. give marino montana's team and he would have destroyed anybody. But Montana is one of the best

  • @oneman91 r u serious brady is 3-1 that is not choking nd manning is 1-1 as for marino nd elway thats ok

  • @juniorvarcity Joe Montana never got credit for being a strong armed Q.B. why is it I'm the only person who saw him throw a 40 yd. bullet as fast, hard and accurate as any Q.B. ever! As for Elway 5 super bowl appearances! "NOT BAD" then theres Bradshaw , Farve, and Brady,

  • @juniorvarcity And Montana's 4-0...

  • @oneman91 If you're talking about the giants superbowl, Brady threw a touchdown to Moss with 2 minutes left. Blame the Pat's defense or talk about the amazing effort from Tyree but it wasn't Brady's fault. Manning on the other hand...

  • @oneman91 You gotta be on drugs, Marino was one of the best 2 minute QBs. Aswell as the best 4th down passer. His 4th downs were almost always huge plays.

  • @oneman91 hey Brady didnt choke his defense choked. but we could go on abou that forever

  • @oneman91 Brady plays defense now ? He actually led the Pats to a 14-10 lead with just about 3 minutes left. About 2:50. He actuallty clutched up on that last drive. It was on our D to stop the Giants.

Again, unless Brady playsn DB or S now.

  • @oneman91 take it easy on marino

  • @oneman91 Brady has 3 rings tht he got with average recievers, the pats had the superbowl if asante hadnt dropped the pick, he choked not brady, actually watch the game before u read the headlines

  • @oneman91 brady is still goin to end up being the GOAT

  • Greatest QB ever to play the game

the Michael Jordan of the NFL...both dominated championship games like no other...best ever in their respective sports

  • JOE MONTANA THE GREATEST EVER

  • The only quarterback i'd rank above montana is dan marino because if you look at there individual records dan marino holds or has held all the major passing records in the pros and alot of montanas success came from the fact that he was throwing the ball to jerry rice the greatest wide receiver of all time also i'd rank elway as equal to montana

  • HAHAHAHAHAH john elway?????? dude get ur facts right!!!!!!!! 4 superbowl rings and no interceptions in a superbowl soooooooooo hes the greatest ..... period

  • elway number one. he is what u call a complete qb. montana, marino. p.manning and m. vick in one equals john elway. the end.

  • hhhahahahhahahah john elway doesnt even compare to montana and his four rings!!!!!!!! dude com on that was a joke right?

  • @xxSonyBoy1xx okay yes ur right but whos the best???? elway doesnt even compare to montana and dont say that he was in a better team cuz the quarterback position makes a team great and he beat the braoncos 55 - 10 so they played against eachother so whos the better qb? JOE MONTANA !!!!!not john elway lol

  • @xxSonyBoy1xx You are fucken retarded.......Montana is the greatest Qb of all time....Elway only won 2 super bowls........and gets injured and leaves.....fucken pussy.....his stats are not even close to montana

  • @JJTAMF elway gets injured and leaves? LMAO! he won back to back rings there is nothing more for him to prove. could possibly won 3 strait had he choose to play but then again why? everythings been accomplish no point. as far as stats goes you need to do your research before you bring that shit up. and 1 last thing , having lots of rings does not make u the greatest. rings is a team effort individual shit!

  • @xxSonyBoy1xx Rings mean everything.......If you have rings, that means you are a fucken badass....you got rings cause you beat everyone else.....elway may have done it back to back but where did his bitch ass go.....NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............and u thin he is the best wrong ..........everyone who clicks on this vid knows as well as i do that Joe Montana is the GREATEST QB OF ALL TIME.......Joe also won super bowls in 88 89 back to back....Learn ur info before commenting Bitch!!!

  • @JJTAMF hey fuck face bitch! just because you think montana is the greastest does not mean i have to agree with your punk ass! and what the fuck is this shit about elway go nowhere? he went to the hall of fame and went out on top thats where he went bitch! you need to learn your shit before posting. elway go nowhere? LMAO!! dont even bother getting back at me , if u do reread my previous reply and keep on reading until it gets through your head! LOL

  • @xxSonyBoy1xx MOTHAFUCKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........did you ever get it in your fucken little head that elway aint the greatest......elway did do good if you didnt read...but not the greatest QB of all time......dont even bother commenting back..you are a fucken joke!!!!!!!!

  • Bubby Brister #1

  • Can you guys stop about the thing that Payton Manning is better that Joe.

He is good but came on, you can not have an interception returned for a TD when the SB is on the line.

Joe never did that, he was allways perfect when the big one was on the line.

  • Brett Favre is great, but it's his decision making that keeps him from being gthe greatest. When it comes to decision making, Montana and Unitas easily top all QBs. Montana always had the magic to pull of a late comeback, no matter how much he was down by or what stage it was, always cool under pressure. Unitas, who called all his own plays, always knew just how to exploit a defense in those closing minutes in the big game, and always came out on top. Montana and Unitas, greatests ever.

  • Joe Montana was by far the best and most clutch quarterback ever!

  • Favre is the greatest player to ever touch the field in NFL history!!! The only reason why it is not unanimous is because he has too many interceptions. One bad record for hundreds of great ones!!!

  • 1.elway.2.marino.3.montana.4.P manning5.warren moon! YUP!

  • Elway better than Montana?

    Montana - 1.

Elway might not even crack the top 3 to most.

  • yes thank you elway doesnt even compare to montana four rings no interceptions in a superbowl montana is the greatest of all time

  • Montana played on way better teams than Elway,,,,winning rings doesnt make you a great player in a team sport like football

Barry Sanders was the best running back i've ever watched and he doesnt have any rings...he never played on great teams

    Same with Marino

  • @ColdDish1 Runningbacks dont touch the ball every single snap. Name some players on the 49ers superbowl team of 1981. Who was the MLB? Who was the RB? Who were the 2 starting WRs? and none of the answers are Jerry Rice or Ronnie Lott.

  • @arkoe310 Ronnie Lott Played for the 49'ers from 1981-1990..He started in 1981 as well

  • Comment removed

  • @arkoe310 Although the 49ers had 3 rookies starting as defensive backs, they all were major defensive threats: Carlton Williamson recorded 4 interceptions, Eric Wright had 3, and Ronnie Lott recorded 7 interceptions and tied an NFL record by returning 3 of them for touchdowns. Three-year veteran defensive back Dwight Hicks led the team with 9 interceptions, which he returned for 239 yards and a touchdown, giving the secondary a total of 23.

  • @arkoe310 Defensive end Fred Dean and linebacker Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds were big contributors up front, making it difficult for the opposing teams to rush the ball.

  • @ColdDish1 All of these players you mentioned were serviceable at best. Now you say contributors? You made it seem like Montana had a whole team of hall of famers or pro bowlers in 1981. Reynolds, dean, wiliiamson, wright, hicks? None of these players are great. and if you ask the average fan about these guys they would not know who the hell your talking about.

  • @arkoe310 Ronnie Lott 10 Pro Bowls, Fred Dean 4 Pro Bowls, Dwight Hicks 4 Pro Bowls, Randy Cross 3 Pro Bowls, Dwight Clark 2 Pro Bowls.....All of them were Pro Bowlers in 1981

Ronnie Lott and Fred Dean are Both in the Pro Football hall of fame

    hardly just " serviceable" players

  • Dean only had one probowl with the niners and it wasnt 81 it was 83....hicks deserved the probowl his first year...the next 3 years....3, 2 and 3 INTS.....how did he make the probowl? Have no IDEA. Randy Cross was good, not a HOF or All Pro....Clark only had one 1000yd season his entire career. Known for one catch only...the only guy you can say he had is Ronnie Lott...and that is what every QB begs for right? "Just give me an all pro Safety and I can win a Superbowl for you coach".

  • @arkoe310 @arkoe310 Early in the 1981 season, Dean was shipped to the San Francisco 49ers were he continued to demonstrate his extraordinary talent. Dean contributed 12 sacks in 11 games for the 49ers en route to the team’s first Super Bowl victory.

Dean’s finest year came two seasons later when he led the NFC with a career-high 17.5 sacks. Included in that total was a then NFL record six sacks in one game. He set the mark during the 49ers’ 27-0 shutout of the New Orleans Saints in 83

  • @arkoe310 In all, Dean played on five division winners. He played in three NFC championship games and in two of San Francisco’s Super Bowl victories (Super Bowls XVI and XIX). Dean earned all-conference honors four times – twice with the Chargers and twice with the 49ers.

He was also named to four Pro Bowls (1980-1982, 1984) and selected All-Pro twice (1980-1981).

    81, 82, 84 Pro Bowler all with the 49'ers

  • @arkoe310 Wrong Dean was a Pro Bowler for the 49'ers in 81, 82, 84. Dean started the year in 81 with Diego but was traded early in the year to San Fran...He helped San Fran win their firsrt superbowl ever and he made the Pro Bowl

Dean was also on the 49'er team that beat Miami and he made the Pro Bowl that year as well

It's no wonder you think the teams Montana played on sucked. You don't even know who the hell Fred Dean is lol.

  • @arkoe310 So you look at a defensive Backs stats and see he just has 3 int's and you wonder why he made the pro bowl lol im thinking a DB does more than intercept the ball...how many passes did he break up ? how many tackles did he have ?? Plus Hicks also returned Kicks...which you clearly dont know lol

  • @arkoe310 "84" Hicks, along with his defensive backfield mates Lott, Wright and Williamson were all selected to the Pro Bowl that season; the only time in NFL History that a single team's entire secondary was afforded the honor in a single season.

Montana was on bad teams???....The entire secondary of the Defense(which has nothing to do with Montana) was elected to the Pro-Bowl.

  • @ColdDish1 My point is that the first time montana won a ring...he hardly had a superbowl caliber team. and there is nothing you can say to change that. You can name players all you want. You knew all the stats from a 27 year old team....that proves that u had to look up the names of players from that roster...because they are not known. ronnie lott was a part of the first ring i knew that. He was a rookie though. Im not saying joe did it by himself. Just did it with alot less than others.

  • @arkoe310 What are you talking about LOL Because you don't know who they players are that means they aren't good ?? plenty of people know how good Fred Dean, Ronnie Lott, HackSaw Reynolds, Dwight Clark, Dwight Hicks, Randy Cross etc were....They had a great Defense....watch the goal line stand they had in the superbowl....One of the best ever....or the game changing INT Dwight Hicks had in that game in the endzone

    Ronnie Lott was a rookie...But he made the probowl..he had 7 INT's 3 TD's

  • @arkoe310 81 49'ers had an outstanding offensive line led by Randy Cross...They had a great Secondary led by Ronnie Lott and Dwight Hicks....They had one of the best pure pass rushers in the history of the NFL..Fred Dean....They had Hacksaw Reynolds at LB....They Had the Genius himself Bill Walsh Coaching....They had Dwight Clark who had 85 catches that year lol

check out the goal line stand the 81 49'ers had in the superbowl vs the bengals...it was epic...they had a legit D in 81

  • @ColdDish1 so your telling me the 49ers built a superbowl Caliber team in 1 year? because in 1980 they were 6-10.... and in the 14 years before Elway won a superbowl...he never, not one time a had a team good enough to win a superbowl? Hard to believe the Broncos made so many wrong moves over such a long period of time. If John Elway was the best why did he only throw 27 more TDs? and why did he have 87 more INTS than Joe??? Montanas 92.3 QB rating smashes on Elways measly 79.9

  • @arkoe310 im arguing the point you said Joe Montana played on bad teams...Which is dead wrong....Montana was the QB of great teams..as was Steve Young when he had the keys to the kingdom.....The Rams went from 4-12 in 1998 to Super Bowl champions in 1999...Does this mean The Rams were a bad football team in 1999 ??? Should Curt Warner be mentioned now as the all time great QB lol

  • @arkoe310 The 1988 49'ers were the weakest team that won a superbowl of all the 49'er superbowl winning teams...They were 6-5 at one point and finished the regualr season 10-6..they almsot did'nt even make the playoffs.....Everybody assumes the teams Joe had in the early 80's without Rice were his crappy teams which is just a HUGE ASSUMPTION......The 1988 49'ers were much more weak compared to those teams

  • @ColdDish1 The thing about the '88 team was it wasn't weak so much as it was in turmoil, what with the Montana/Young question and other internal issues...once they got things sorted out after the halfway point they played like the Niners of the '80s.

  • @ColdDish1

Is 1988 the year S.Young sub in for Joe against the Vikings and had the "great escape"? Because if it was then, no wonder that run was so amazing, considering it inspired and helped them win the SB.

  • Montana kicked both Marino and Elway's asses in Super Bowls. Therefore, Joe is number one.

  • Montana blew away the dolphins and the Broncos in superbowls and people are talking about Marino and Elway being argued as better? Joe has never lost a superbowl, why? because he's that good, he easily could have won another one but he got hurt in the playoffs against the Giants and basically ended his career. Unitas is at my two spot. No one comes close, especially the qbs now, they get their hand held before each snap and favre played for a loong time, he has the INT record right? bwaha

  • first of all, montana did not beat the broncos, the 49ers beat the broncos. second of all, having lots of rings does not make u the greatest. bradshaw is equal with montana at 4 rings, but he doesnt even crack top ten on my list.

  • @xxSonyBoy1xx One difference...Bradshaw had 7 Hall of Famers by his side. Montana had 2.

  • joe the greatest

  • @cowssmell11 favre ? :)
