I am sorry, but it is technical stuff. They are talking about embryonic stem cells. By definition they are derived from embryos. That is not debatable. When he talks about embryonic stem cells derived from adult cells, he is mixing up concepts. It just shows that he is not in total control of the topic he is talking about. However, I agree on the main message of what he is trying to get across. I just think it is funny how little these political pundits know...

This guy Ron Reagan is talking out of his ass. He said you can make embryonic stem cells by taking skin and make stem cells out of them. Yes that is true, but that is called adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells comes from embryos, hence the name... His intensions are good, but he has completely missed the point. He is a typical pundit, talking like they knows everything about the topic of the day...

You're missing the point - adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells are different. The entire point of researching embryonic stem cells is to figure out how to make them out of adult stem cells, and there's no way to figure out how to do this without researching it.  Anyways, the stem cells they use would be thrown out if they aren't researched, which seems like a waste to me.
