Gotta love Valis,the only version of Valis II i've played was the MSX2 version,I always wanted to Play the Turbo Grafx16 version,however,thanks to Valis77's lets play,I finnaly got a chance to experianced what that version was like ^^
Syd of Valis was ok,but in my opinion I think the genesis should have actually made a port of the real Valis II rather than making a Super deformed parody.
Any version is better than the TurboGrafx version. Sad knowing that given the system they could have achieved a fine medium between the MSX2 and PC98 versions. They had the right idea to retool the gameplay, but the execution came out HORRIBLE.
I can see your point on Valis 2's gap being filled by SD Valis which would have been better off as a Mega CD sidestory. A respectable Valis 2 on the Genesis could have cleaned up the TG-16's mess.
I was raised on the TG-16 CD version, but now that I hear this one I think I like the deep, jabbing, cutting, sharp, guttural tones of the chip based game instead.
I don't know why Laser Soft didn't follow the computer versions as far as Valis 2 goes. I'm guessing there were problems getting certain tracks to change...
SD/Syd of Valis is more or less a faithful console adaption of the PC versions of Valis 2 but lacks voice/cutscenes. Turbo CD fills that bill, but the gameplay and perhaps story structure are DRAMATICALLY different which may or may not lead to disappointment.
I like the X68000 version for its arcade-esque hardware. ^_^;
HOw did i miss this video? Good music when yuko is getting killed.

Wow... this is actually some *poor* FM on the x68k's side. I expected *much* better than this...
