Robinson was one of the best defensemen ever as both a defender and a rusher. He also could handle himself. He never seemed to start the fights he was in but always seemed to finish them. On the slow-mo replay look how he dodged Marotte's attempt at a tackle - of course Marotte used to get faked out constantly if I remember.

Robinson couldn't buy a fight if he wanted to. Nobody would take him on. He became a peacemaker as his career progressed. His reputation as one of the most feared fighters in NHL history was made early on in his career.

Larry was the best defenseman I ever saw where 2 on 1s and even 3 on 1s were concerned....I litterally learned how to stop them, just by watching him! (Dryden rarely had to make a save when Larry was on the ice!)

Robinson didnt really look for trouble. He was a gentle guy but his opponents knew very well it was in their best interest to not get larry mad. Every now and then, they did get larry mad though... then its time to duck.
