I just realized how awesomely this would go with a LOTR video. Sounds like it would fit so well to the allies arriving at the battle for Helm's Deep or for the one at Minas Tirith.
Join us, brothers and sisters. Join us in the shadows where we stand vigilant. Join us as we carry the duty that cannot be forsworn. And should you perish, know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten and that one day, we shall join you.
God its too bad they didnt do a cutscene where you can see the Battle of Lothering:This music while bandit and templar alike turn to face the Darkspawn
I love the way the music quiets and pauses on the brink at 2:23, then the glory of the choir comes in. Reminds me of the unexpected ally, who turns up when the battle is grim. A lot of thought must have been put into this piece.
@BingtheLizard can't believe they didn't put this in the last battle instead. your thought of allies fits perfectly there where you're aided by many important characters
the feelings this song brings out, on a dark battlefield, fighting a grim battle against a seemingly endless horde, as you take a blow on your shield, you see another friend fall, but you don't stop, because even though there is little hope, you try your hardest to cling on to what little there is left of it.
@ForsakenZOL Yeah DAO is more of a RPG and has the many elements that make them great: exploration, choices, character development, skill trees, equipment. One thing: I always dread the Mage's Tower, it's so tedious.
ME2 is more of an action game now, the 1st one was an ideal cross between Third-person shooters and RPGs but the 2nd one destroyed that.
It seems like the title fits well to the DA2 story. In Da:o npcs only said Lothering was looted. With the news on Da2, it's said that Hawke survive the battle of lothering and move to the north (Kirkwall)
@thimy69 It's called "Battle of Lothering Village" because it's the battle theme in Lothering...there was no battle vs the Darkspawn in Lothering, they just overran it.

GAY! GAY I TELL YOU! i hate every time i spot an enemy in the game because that gay music shows up every time, it's the wors creation ever within the medieval epic music genre, it's just so damn wrong!
Since Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 are both superior, that would place it third (though I'd make room for Final Fantasy before Dragon Age, which means it doesn't make it into my top 10). Dragon Age is a regression in every way except graphics, and even those are poor for 2009.
It's still undeniably a good game, but that's what is wrong with it: it is merely _good_ after having set a precedent of greatness with the Baldur's Gate series. Worthy successor it is not.
The story of Dragon Age is what makes it so wonderful, the characters are deep and you feel like you bond with throughout the game. Not to mention, the music is one of the best ever(right after mass effect 2). It's a worthy successor and a great game. I'm glad to have bought it and play it.
I think, that since this is suposed to be a dark and bloody game, that if this epic hero music plays all over the game- it wouldnt be as "scary" or dark as first intended. but I also hate its only played at lothering!
Bioware themselves said that Dragon Age is a "dark /heroic/ fantasy." it is supposed to be violent and scary, but there always has to be a glimmer of hope underneath. True enough, this kind of music shouldn't be played at every part of the game, but it wouldn't have hurt if they used this track more often.
I think this would have been a better choice for the Battle of Denerim, fighting through the Darkspawn army and battling through the city to reach the Arch Demon
i wish dragon age use metal musics istead of opera ones

I love Dragon Age. My first walkthrough is 91 hours and I will replay DAO min. 7 times.
I play ME2 3 times and I finish it. Dragon Age is more replayable and has more unique choices, than ME2.
Both Game are awesome, but if you play more, then you play DAO.

If you did all the quests or most of them in the area. You do battles with more bandits and wolfes and etc.
