My favorite times with Charlotte was watching her and Stan Kann playing off each other for a laugh or he playing the organ to accompany her on the organ. I wish they knew more on Johnny Carson about the Charlotte Peters Show and his part of such a wonderful era in St. Louis!
She was a master at interviewing. What made her different was she often didn't know what she was getting into. Interviewing Delores Gray doing "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Muny she asked "Have you ever done this role before?" Delores had been the toast of London as Annie. She asked Peggy King, who was so very tired of being compared to Judy Garland, "Has anyone ever told you that you look and sound like Judy Garland?" She got away with it because she was strictly sincere.
