Izzy has grown up-what a gorgeous dude! wow! All my cats make the same sound whether it's at birdies, flies or something they think is a bug. I can imitate that sound and that always gets em going-in stereo! gotta film it.

I think the kittehs make that noise to simulate the kind of noises that birds make to try to lure them in. It's like a natural hunting instinct. I had a cat who made the chattering sound but he had such a high pitched voice so he sounded like a child hysterically laughing. Lol...

interesting...i had a cat that would imitate bird sounds..it would also get chased by a certain type of bird for some reason...my guess is he probably found bird eggs or baby birds in a tree and the mother would protect them by taking a nose dive at the cat nearly every day. he was a strange cat
